While students are heading back to school in the coming weeks, that doesn’t mean that learning stopped during the summer months. Whether through a job, internship, camps or sports — there are myriad durable skills built outside of the classroom that are highly relevant for students of all ages. As students return to the classroom, educators must recognize the importance of all kinds of skills development — whether from traditional coursework or outside of the classroom. Ensuring students are equipped with durable human skills is key to ensure future success — in the world of work, higher education, and throughout their lives. Placing value in these skills, and developing curricula that take into account the development of durable skills, is essential. What skills do you think are most valuable to develop over the summer?
