🚀 Today we’re announcing our integration of Mobilise-D's digital mobility outcomes into the Empatica Health Monitoring Platform, providing 25 new validated measures for COPD, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, hip fracture recovery, and congestive heart failure. EmbracePlus was used in a recent study employing Virtual Reality (VR) technology to analyze the benefits of Biophilic Design interventions in office spaces. ⌚ While immersed in VR, participants wore EmbracePlus wearables which recorded electrodermal activity (EDA), pulse rate (PR), and skin temperature (ST). 📝 The study investigated the effects of audio-visual connection with nature on office soundscape, physiological parameters, and a potential correlations between physiological and soundscape response. 🎵 198 participants were exposed to acoustic scenarios, with responses on perceived affective quality of soundscapes collected. ✅ Results showed a positive physiological change was more elicited by the acoustical connection with nature, with lowered EDA and PR. ⌚EmbracePlus was used in a recent proposal assessing the application of physiology-driven Empathic Large Language Models (EmLLMs) for monitoring and managing workplace stress. EmLLMs monitor users and their surroundings via wearables to predict their mental and emotional states, interacting with them based on the outcome. What’s the value of medical devices with clinically validated algorithms and measures vs. consumer wearables? ✅ In order to ensure that Empatica’s digital biomarkers are reliable, the algorithms are clinically validated against a gold standard measure. This makes data collected by the EmbracePlus wearable reliable and clinically actionable. ❌ Whereas consumer wearables tend to have black box algorithms, meaning they do not reveal how a measure is calculated and this could even be changed without warning.
