Never before has a crisis hit small businesses quite as hard as the pandemic, and perhaps no industries have been hit harder than restaurants and hospitality. Since EMPLOYERS has been coming to the aid of workers and businesses facing adversity for more than 100 years, it made sense for us to take action. We’ve teamed up with our restaurant association partners across the country to help workers stay on their feet, creating restaurant relief funds that provide grants directly to hardworking restaurant employees during this uniquely challenging time. Sunglasses aren’t just a fashion statement—for workers, they’re a critical piece of PPE. ⚠️ When shopping for a pair of safety sunglasses, look for the following: - The glasses should contain 99 to 100 percent protection from UVA and UVB rays (check their label for details). - Make sure the lenses cover your entire eye area, including your eyelids and the sides of your eyes. - Choose glasses that have shields on the top and sides to reduce the risk of getting foreign objects in your eyes from any direction. - Look for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) logo and the Z87.1 code. This designates the glasses as approved safety eyewear. - Select close-fitting frames with larger lenses or wraparounds to prevent rays from entering on the sides. - Don’t let price fool you; just because the price is higher doesn’t necessarily mean the protection is better! Keep your digits safe and injury-free with these essential tips: 🖐️ Wear gloves that fit and are the right ones for the job. ✌️ Make use of machine guards when operating or fixing any machinery. ✋ Be cautious of sharp objects, from work tools to stray nails. 🙌 Remove rings, which can catch on machinery and cause injury. 👐 Stay alert for pinch points when moving through narrow spaces or placing heavy objects. We know that sometimes you need proof of coverage in a hurry, so we make it easy. Here’s what to do if you’re a policyholder: ➡️ Log in to your EACCESS® account and navigate to “Policy Search.” ️➡️ Select your policy and click the “Certificates” tab. ➡️ There you’ll find a button to “Issue New Certificate.” ➡️ You’ll be given the option to download or email the certificate to the email address registered to your EACCESS® account or the certificate holder.
