Where does all the energy come from that powers your social media? Texas Public Policy Foundation explains that natural gas and oil provide the majority of power for the servers, networks, and hardware. Interesting fact: The Despacito music video, which got 5 billion plays on YouTube, consumed as much energy as Chad, Guinea-Bissau, Somalia, Sierra Leone, and the Central African Republic put together in a single year. https://lnkd.in/gvwZiBb8

Each summer, Energy Transfer and Sunoco LP employees in Dallas host the "Share the Shoes" campaign to purchase new sneakers for hundreds of children in under-resourced neighborhoods in Northwest Dallas. This summer, employees purchased 514 new shoes, totaling more than $10,300 in value. Partnering with the Northwest NPO Unit of the Dallas Police Department, employees and officers distribute the shoes to children at recreational centers and back-to-school events. The annual initiative helps build positive relationships within the community, and puts a smile on kids’ faces as they receive brand new shoes. #Dallas | #DallasPolice | #GivingBack | #Donate | #SummerVibes | #PositiveNews
