“We’re looking for a loose cannon and your name keeps coming up.” • Social Media for People Who Hate Doing Social Media •
ICYMI — here are a couple of mug shots of the Picasso that looms over Daley Plaza in Chicago. Front and side views. Judging it from the front (on your left), this giant sculpture may look like a cartoon dog with wings, so why would Picasso try to pass it off as a female? Because. Art. Most of us just nod in agreement, totally mystified, unless we had to pass freshman art history. And got a gander at his paintings of women. Oh that guy. NOTE: Picasso once supposedly said that the dog-like head was that of his Afghan hound. Regardless, with this amazing installation, the master of the canvas proved he could work in three dimensions as well. In a preemptive move, perhaps to silence any future dog face critics, Picasso included a woman’s profile (on your right), but you have to stand in the right place to see it — across the street and a little behind her. If you move to the left or right too quickly you’ll miss it. You’re welcome.

Pablo Picasso spent much of the summer of 1921 in a garage. Inside this unlikely studio in a rented villa in Fontainebleau, France, he worked prolifically to create a startling body of work. Among his most astonishing creations were two radically different, six-foot-high canvases that he painted side-by-side within weeks of each other: “Three Women at the Spring” and “Three Musicians.” Now open! #PicassoInFontainebleau reunites these two monumental paintings, along with other key works, for the first time since they left the improvised studio → mo.ma/picasso2023 — All works by Pablo Picasso. © 2023 Estate of Pablo Picasso / Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York [1] “Three Musicians.” Fontainebleau, summer 1921. The industrial metaverse is a more difficult concept to define. Here are 4 building blocks, highlighting some of the key issues.👇 🔗Real-Time Collaboration. As much a defining characteristic as a building block, real-time collaboration is a crucial prerequisite to the industrial metaverse. At its core, the metaverse is a communication tool, a way of sharing ideas and data. It enables individuals or teams to work together across physical distances using digital technologies. 🔗Reality Capture. The second building block, reality capture, involves the use of technologies like 3D scanning and LiDAR to enable detailed and accurate digital twins of physical environments or objects. That reality capture data also enables people to immerse themselves in visualizations of products, processes, and even complex factory environments. If you can make a close representation of the real world and bring it into a digital space, it unlocks a wealth of possibilities for one simple reason. 🔗Data Fabric. For real-time collaboration to work effectively, the processes behind them need to be secure and lightning-fast. With equipment-intensive operations like automotive manufacturing, the industrial metaverse is potentially a very powerful tool. Each machine and every stage in the value chain through to the end of the product lifecycle is a node in a complex network and we can upgrade each to provide continuous, real-time data. The data fabric or “transport layer” refers to the system that allows for data exchange and integration across the entire network. It’s the glue that links it all together or the foundation of the real industrial metaverse. It ensures that data from various sources is securely and efficiently transported and processed. 🔗Ability to Connect Different Systems. Interoperability of equipment and integration of data sources is essential for creating any kind of unified and cohesive industrial metaverse. This connectivity is how we go from a purely virtual reality space to one that offers a persistent, always-on, digital representation of the physical world. Any connected device is like a piece of a giant digital mosaic. We only get an accurate image when we connect everything. The more pieces there are, the higher the resolution of the final image.
