This summer, I had the pleasure of visiting two of my favorite shops in San Francisco and learning more about the people who have helped build the blocks that shape the city. Tomorrow, catch the first episode of Building Blocks, Faire’s newest video series. For episode one, I spent the day with Tom, the owner of Gamescape. This nearly 40-year-old destination shop on Divisadero St. has jigsaw puzzles, chess sets, and almost every other game in between. “When I think about the future of Faire, I'm very excited about the number of people, including the number of women entrepreneurs that we're able to support. We're in a challenging macroeconomic environment. But typically, what we see when we emerge from these periods is a lot of new business formation, a lot of people taking the leap and deciding to go follow their dreams. Faire is extremely well situated to be their partners in that.” Faire President, Lauren Cooks Levitan joined Jenna Todey on the Woman Inc. podcast to discuss the importance of mission-driven businesses, the CFO toolkit, empowering female entrepreneurship, advice for fundraising, and more. Speed matters. We know our customers want a lightning-fast web product so they can achieve their goals quickly and get back to running their business. That's why our Frontend team has been busy overhauling our website to use the NextJS React framework, adopting modern technologies and patterns that boost load speed and performance. Senior Staff Engineer Luke Bjerring shares how the Engineering team migrated Faire's codebase from a mature React single-page application to NextJS—without having to rewrite the whole thing: https://lnkd.in/gg_khVYz

Check out our latest work with fine-tuned LLaVA, where Yanwei (Wayne) Zhang and our Data team achieved better-than-human accuracy in some e-commerce applications. This approach enhances model accuracy, streamlines user experience, and boosts operational efficiency through advanced automation.
