A big thank you to the Wilson family for their donation of backpacks and school supplies ✏️ Every year, they ask their former high schools to compete against one another and see who can collect the most school supplies for our youth. This year, we received a whopping 75 backpacks fully equipped with school supplies! 🎒 ✨

The cost of the test kit administered had been paid for by Firefly. At the time, she was navigating intense emotions and the multitude of challenges associated with an assault. “I have friends [who] have been [assaulted] – that is partly why I knew what happened to me was wrong,” she recounts. Miller Pipeline recently welcomed Firefly youth to their office for a monthly food truck day! 😎 Youth participated in a tour of the office and warehouse, gaining insight into the various roles within the company. Following the tour, they shared lunch with the employees from the food trucks and engaged in some outdoor games. We had an awesome time, and we might have some future Miller Pipeline team members headed your way! Thanks for giving these kiddos an opportunity to learn and play ✨

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our partners at Huntington National Bank Camp Heroes for generously funding last week's Indianapolis Colts experience for our youth! Kiddos enjoyed learning cheerleading skills and collecting autographs from players after practice. Thank you for the fun-filled experience that will surely have a lasting positive impact ✨

Kordell, who celebrated his adoption through Firefly earlier this year, was removed from his birth family some years ago due to significant instability in the home. With no place to go and a high level of care required, Kordell, who is on the Autism spectrum and mostly non-verbal, bounced around from place to place; a social worker’s cubicle, a psychiatric hospital, and then with a foster family for a mere 24 hours before being moved again. Children who experience multiple moves like this often experience higher levels of trauma with each new placement, as was the case with Kordell.
