If you're talking about green homes in California, you'd better be talking to John Shipman! Here's a peak at one of the trainings he recently led, where he educated real estate agents on understanding Building Science principles, identifying and creating high-performance homes, and conveying the benefits of these homes to a wide variety of stakeholders.
🌟 We had an incredible time at the NAR Green Designation class in Solano! This unique training is the only nationally recognized designation for real estate professionals focused on green building principles. Attendees gained valuable insights into high-performance homes, understanding building science, and leveraging California’s state and federal rebate programs to make energy-efficient improvements accessible for all. 💡 A standout feature of this class was the emphasis on decarbonization strategies aimed at supporting traditionally underserved communities, including low-income clients and first-time buyers. By focusing on these areas, we are helping to build stronger, more resilient communities across California. 🚀 Beyond the environmental benefits, our attendees also learned cutting-edge strategies to enhance their business and offer more value to their clients in today’s challenging real estate market. 📸 Check out the highlights from the event in the photos below! We’re excited to see the positive impact these newly designated professionals will have on their communities. "The bottom line is that the IRA is an opportunity for both utilities and SEOs to take electrification initiatives to a higher level. And the resulting market transformation can last long after the IRA rebate periods end." Great write-up, Mark Gentry!
Recent years have seen the enactment of landmark legislation aimed at addressing the pressing issue of climate change. The federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which has allocated $8.8 billion in home energy rebates, is just one example of the transformative policies designed to steer the nation toward a more sustainable energy future. These new initiatives underscore the essential role that utilities and state energy offices will play in creating a sustainable, electrified energy landscape. If you're heading to the Forth Roadmap Conference this year, don't miss Elizabeth's session!
My favorite claim to tenure in the EV space is that in the summer of 2010, I attended a half-day conference in Portland with about 50 attendees, talking about #EVs. We called it Roadmap. Fourteen years later, the Forth Roadmap Conference is the nation’s premier space where where industry and community leaders convene to build the future of #transportation. I’m excited to be speaking at this year's event, September 24-26 in Detroit, and I hope you'll join me there! roadmapforth.org #RoadmapForth
