Glenville Health and Rehabilitation participated in the "Back to School Event" held at the Waco Center on Saturday, August 10th. It was our privilege to get to help the children in our community. Along with giving out some basic school supplies we also raffled off a Yeti Tumbler and the lucky winner was Arianna Sowa! It is so nice being part of a great community. Good luck Gilmer County Students, we hope you have a fantastic school year. A big thank you to Donald Johnson for helping to draw the lucky winner of our Yeti raffle.

Yesterday, August 7th ,was "Purple Heart Day". Staff and residents joined together in wearing purple to show their respect and to acknowledge more than 1.8 million U.S. service members who have been wounded or killed in combat. Glenville Health and Rehabilitation want to thank those who served for their bravery, selfless service, and sacrifice.

Today in honor of National Health Center Week, Minnie Hamilton Health System came for a visit delivering Ice Cream Sandwiches. Needless to say, we had lots of happy residents. We appreciate the community support! Glenville Health & Rehabilitation had a very busy month in July. Some of the activities that the residents got to do are, Burnsville Freedom Festival, Drive through wheel chair wash, Ivan Parker Concert at the Sue Morris Sports Complex, Pitch Perfect Movie at the Roby Theater in Spencer, WV, A Walmart Shopping Trip, Hot Fudge Sundaes and Ice Cream Floats, Appalachian Car Cruze in, Snow Cone Day and we had a Hot Dog Bake Sale. August is shaping up to be a busy month as well. More exciting post to follow!

Please join us in welcoming our newest team member Halee Wildman. Halee has accepted the Director of Social Services position. Halee is from beautiful Gilmer County and graduated from Glenville State College in 2020 with a degree in Behavioral Science. Halee has spent the last 4 years at Highland Psychiatric Hospital. She is passionate about helping people and her experience and compassion for the elderly made this the perfect opportunity. Halee has a handsome one year old little boy and enjoys walking and cooking. She is very excited to start this new adventure. Welcome Halee!!!

Glenville Health and Rehabilitation is ecstatic to announce our new Environmental Service Director, Kelly Radcliff. Kelly is married to Robert Radcliff and they have 2 kids and 5 grandchildren. In Kelly's free time, you can find her camping and spending time with her grandkids. Kelly loves working with the senior population and has a vast amount of experience doing so. Her work at the Senior Center and the State of West Virginia for Senior Services shows the love she has for this population. She most recently was the manager at Tudors. With Kelly's experience as a manager and working with the senior population, she is destined to be a great addition to the team. Welcome Kelly!

Today has been full of yummy goodness at Glenville Health and Rehabilitation. We had a food truck available and it is now that time of the month to celebrate our July birthdays! We had several residents and staff come to the birthday party. Thank you, Glenda Schimmel, for your fantastic cakes, we always look forward to them!

It's always nice when Elaina Goldsmith stops by from WV Caring. Yesterday on the agenda was a car wash. Now this was no typical car wash, but did it ever reveal some smiles and shiny wheels. Thank you, Elaina and Tasha, for all the fun help!!!
