It’s National Exercise with Your Child Week! Exercise is a great way to teach children the importance of healthy habits, physical development, and family bonding! There are so many fun ways to include exercise in your family time, such as: 1. Swimming - strengthens lungs, boosts brain power, and eases joint pain. 2. Biking - lowers your cholesterol, strengthens your lower body, and improves coordination. 3. Hula Hooping - enhances cardiovascular fitness, strengthens core muscles, and improves balance. 4. Yoga - teaches breath control while also improving flexibility, body awareness, and posture. 5. Playing sports - lowers anxiety, increases energy levels, and even improves your mental health. Our GGK Next Generation P-36 Curriculum supports you in understanding children’s physical and emotional development, and how exercise can play a part in aiding both. Last week we wrapped up #effectivecommunicationmonth! We wanted to leave you with the reminder that when we affirm a person's strengths, it boosts their self-esteem, confidence and hope! Research suggests that simply being exposed to negative language is enough to cause higher levels of stress and anxiety, as well as lower levels of health and well-being. By shifting your language and communication to a strengths-based approach, you are supporting others to grow by identifying and building upon their strengths. Learn more about what this approach means and how using it in your communication with others can strengthen relationships. Take our 2-hour online course, A Strengths-Based Approach today!
