Eczema is more than just a skin condition. It’s the second-most common skin condition affecting Black Americans, with 20% of Black children experiencing some form of eczema. To recognize eczema on dark skin, look for dry or scaly areas that are dark brown, purple, or ashen gray, typically found in folds of the skin, the face, neck, and upper chest. These areas can cause an itchy sensation. Soothe eczema with hypo-allergenic, fragrance-free products containing prebiotic oat. For more information, read here: https://hubs.la/Q02KtrV00. Remember to seek care from a dermatologist for personalized advice. ✨ What is Exfoliation? ✨ Exfoliation unclogs your pores by removing dry, dead skin cells. Here are some amazing benefits: 🌟 Prevents Ingrown Hairs & Razor Bumps 🌟 Reduces Hyperpigmentation & Dark Spots 🌟 Prevents Breakouts 🌟 Evens Out Skin Tone 🌟 Brightens & Smooths Skin Sensitive, Dry Skin? Avoid aggressive or abrasive scrubs – they can damage your skin barrier, leading to redness and hyperpigmentation. Exfoliate once a week and always follow up with a moisturizer. Pro Tip: Gentle natural chemical exfoliants with alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) are a great place to start! An example is Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. 💫 *Note: This is not medical advice. Consult a board-certified dermatologist for personalized advice and treatment.
