About us

Our team members and physicians are focused on doing what’s right for our community. That is why we look more closely, go beyond the surface and see every dimension in everything we do, providing a level of care that defies the expected. Without our people, we wouldn’t be recognized for who we are today. It all comes down to our team members, connected and supporting each other. Working together like a family, with the understanding of what we’re all working towards. Every day they go beyond, when others call it quits, and maintain high standards to honor our community. This is what it means to work at HonorHealth. With more than 3,000 expert physicians, 12,000 dedicated employees, and 3,000 caring volunteers, HonorHealth continues to strengthen our communities, making sure that everyone has access to quality healthcare.

Tena Hughes is a living miracle. More than once, she attributes the care she received at HonorHealth to saving her life. In 2021, Tena was diagnosed with Covid-19. She went to the emergency room complaining of headaches and a doctor found late-stage melanoma tumors all over her body. Eight surgeries and three years later, Hughes is still on the road to recovery. Most recently, the HonorHealth Research Institute started offering a new cancer therapy that specifically targets melanoma. Tena was one of the first patients to be successfully treated for cancer with a new type of immunotherapy known as TIL, or tumor infiltrating lymphocytes, which began clearing within days of her treatment. “By the time her cancer had come back after her most recent surgery, it really aligned when we were able to start offering this treatment,” said Dr. Justin Moser, an associate clinical investigator with HonorHealth Research Institute. Nancy Koontz works at the HonorHealth Infusion Center, just down the street from where she started her career in 1979 at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, which is now known as HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center. Over 45 years, her dedication to nursing and her patients hasn’t wavered despite different roles, departments and a tremendous amount of change. “I love caring for our patients and their families,” Nancy adds. “My coworkers, throughout my career, have been a joy to work with and we always try to have fun while doing our jobs.” Nancy’s advice to her fellow nurses – get involved in your profession because change is inevitable. And when you’re involved, you get the opportunity to be a positive part of the change.

HonorHealth physicians performed the first commercial case in Arizona using the FDA-approved Gore® EXCLUDER® Thoracoabdominal Branch Endoprosthesis (TAMBE). This advanced technique offers timely and effective complex aneurysm repair by placing a stent graft inside the aorta through small incisions in the body as an alternative to open surgery and incisions in the chest or abdomen. Hasan Aldailami, MD, and Venkatesh Ramaiah, MD, were part of the multi-disciplinary team that completed the first procedure at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center. HonorHealth is at the top of the class ⭐ With four A's and two B's, HonorHealth out-performs all other multi-hospital systems in Arizona to provide high quality and safe care. Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades are assigned to nearly 3,000 general acute-care hospitals across the nation. This safety grade is the gold standard measure of patient safety. Leapfrog uses up to 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other data sources to produce a single letter grade representing a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.
