🌟 It’s World Lion Day! 🌟 Douala came to Black Beauty Ranch from a roadside zoo in Canada, where she was rescued by HSI from a life of neglect and cruelty. 🦁💛 She loves lounging on her high platform in the mornings and hiding in the forest shade during the heat of the day. She also loves playing with her favorite enrichment items, like a ball or pumpkin! 🐾☀️

Canada is no stranger to devastating wildfires. If it isn’t safe for you, it isn’t safe for your pets. It’s imperative that everyone who is responsible for caring for animals is prepared to take action, including evacuating with their animals and all essential supplies for both humans and animals. Before their rescue, Hope and Blossom spent almost a quarter of their lives living in farrowing crates – cages so small they couldn’t even turn around. They were barely able to move as they gave birth and nursed their piglets. But that’s behind them now! Rescued by Humane Society International/United Kingdom, these girls are enjoying all the snacks and freedom at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary.
