“I want to thank all of Pittsburgh - not just North Side, all over Pittsburgh; Western Pennsylvania. I made a good living with their people coming here. And they still come, all these years later - they always come and tell me they came here for their first ice ball and they still come today, and they even bring people from out of town." -Gus Kalaris We will forever cherish our memories with Gus. Here’s a look back at the sweetest memory: sharing the Pittsburgh legend’s story in the 2021-22 edition of On Track.

Space Foundation Discovery Center has been reopened for over a week. Kenneth Riegert's video showcases the extensive renovations completed over the past seven months. Our team was responsible for updating all visual elements within the 20,000+ square foot space. We established a new look and feel for the museum based on our brand standards, which included selecting vibrant paint colors, producing new graphics for the main gallery, eight exhibit spaces, four labs, operational and exterior signage. Additionally, we realized creative placemaking with muralists and launched a marketing campaign to promote the reopening.   I deeply appreciate the team at Carnegie Science CenterJennifer Lawrence, Azur Cherin, and Colleen Balistrieri — for designing all the new graphics and some of our interactive displays. Collaborating with them to revitalize Space Foundation Discovery Center was so fantastic! It looks incredible!   Special thanks to muralists Juls Mendoza (@jwlc_art) and Molly McClure (@mollymcclureart). Their four new murals enrich the community and enhance STEAM learning by implementing the “A” for arts.   A huge shoutout to Anna G. for her creative direction, project management, and coordination with the muralists. Her support was crucial to our success and my sanity.   Thanks also to my fellow designers at Space FoundationBreanna Sieck, Rich Herrera, and Eason Mahone — for their design work, production efforts, and pep talks. And to the StratComm team, for content editing, PR, social posts, and video production. And to Space Foundation leadership for your ongoing support.   Though our task list was significant, it was part of a much larger effort. Many, many kudos to the entire Space Foundation Discovery Center team for undertaking this mighty project and exceeding expectations. Rachel English, it was great working alongside you to bring this vision to life. Congratulations!
