A huge thank you to everyone and their adorable fur friends who made it out to our KONG Day celebrations across the US! For 48 incredible years, KONG® has been bringing joy to pets' lives, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with you all. 🐾 For nearly half a century, we've been dedicated to making tails wag and purrs echo in homes everywhere. This year, we wanted to celebrate the pets that fill our hearts with joy and shine a spotlight on the amazing dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes at the rescues and shelters that joined our events. We’ve been a beloved staple in pet households for 48 years, and we’re beyond grateful for your support. To show our appreciation, we decided to give back in a big way. Thanks to our wonderful KONG partners who teamed up with us for KONG Day Giveaways on social media, we were able to extend our love and support to even more shelters and rescues all across the United States. 🎁 At KONG, our mission has always been to bring  joy to pets around the world with our wide range of mentally stimulating, tail-wagging toys. We believe that playtime is essential, not just for fun, but for the well-being of our furry companions. That’s why it’s so rewarding to make a positive impact beyond just toys. Our hearts are full seeing the happiness KONG brings to pets and their families, and we are driven by the joy and laughter that our toys inspire. In just one year, over 52,000 KONG toys have been donated to shelters across the United States. We are inviting shelters to join us to raise this number!    In May 2023, VCA Charities and KONG partnered to launch the Second Chance KONG initiative, aimed at enriching the lives of shelter animals.    Through this program, durable rubber KONGs with slight imperfections are repurposed to reduce waste and provide valuable resources to shelters.    "KONG exists because we know dogs need to play—they need enrichment, stimulation, and ways to keep busy while patiently waiting for adoption," said Brian Decker, Vice President of Brand and Creative at KONG. "Our support of VCA Charities and its vast network of shelter partners means even more shelter dogs will have a second chance at finding a loving home—not to mention care and toys while they wait for one!"   With the launch of our new website, VCA Charities is now offering an open application for qualifying shelters to request Second Chance KONG toys for their shelter dog populations. KONG Day was celebrated on April 8th for our teams abroad, but we could feel the love all the way from the USA! Our amazing retailers, distributors, and general KONG fanatics joined us for a day of celebration filled with KONG love, education, and tail wags.  KONG Day is all about educating and giving back to dogs in need. Through the power of play and enrichment, we can make a difference in the lives of dogs around the world. We had such a great time getting to know the team at AfFORDable Pet Center, who are one of our outstanding KONG Retail Club members. @affordablepetcenter won the Golden KONG during a KONG Day event for KRC stores, and we treated them to a well-deserved vacation in Golden, Colorado! Their itinerary included a tour of KONG Headquarters & Manufacturing, catching a @rockies baseball game, indulging in Colorado's local fare @hungrygoatmorrison, and so much more!
