Through leadership, education and advocacy, we are the voice of all senior care service organizations.

About us

The LifeSpan Network is composed of LifeSpan, The Beacon Institute, and LifeSpan Products and Services (LPS). Providers and professionals involved in senior care in Maryland and the District of Columbia turn to LifeSpan to keep informed of the latest legislation and trends in senior care and to have a dedicated lobbyist representing their interests in Annapolis, as well as to have opportunities to network with colleagues in the field. LifeSpan's Beacon Institute provides clinical and administrative education and training for senior care providers, both in our Columbia, Maryland classrooms and in your facility via webcast. Scholarship opportunities are even available for qualified members. Finally, the opportunity to save money and run a more efficient community through collective buying power is offered through Lifespan's Products and Services group (LPS).

Despite Debby's attempt to ruin our plans, our 2024 Joint Board Retreat was phenomenal! We are so fortunate to have incredible members and leaders on our Lifespan, Beacon and LPS Boards who guide and inspire us each day. Special thank you to Maryland Secretary of Aging, Carmel Roques, for joining us and providing an exciting look into the plans for Longevity Ready Maryland. An additional thank you to our sponsors: Bodie Attorney at Law, DIAMOND MEDICAL LABORATORIES, LLC., Remedi SeniorCare Pharmacy, RCM&D, and Therapy Systems DME. Huge congratulations to the comeback-winners of our Cornhole Cup, Chris Trigger and Stanley Snow! Kristine Metter, CAE - thank you for guiding us towards our mission and vision, and for encouraging us to think about the rapidly approaching future of aging services. Here's to a fantastic end to 2024, featuring our Annual Conference in September, and an energized entrance into 2025!

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit with the team at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home! They have 126 acres and have been "Serving those who serve" with Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and memory care for almost 40 years! The campus itself dates back to the 1700s--it was one of the first schools in the United States. Executive Director Sonia Bailey-Gibson, MPA and the Deputy Director of the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs, Rodney Jones, gave us a wonderful tour. Highlights included the tiki bar, the accessible patio swing, and the Army/Navy football-themed rehab wing! A beautiful day in a beautiful community--thank you for having us!

A true highlight of our summer - the Williamsport Retirement Village 28th Jet Ski Event! The smiles, echoing laughter, and wonderment that this event brings is fantastic. Many of these residents have never seen water, ridden a jetski, pontoon, or have been missing their coastal views for quite some time. Check out the news article below to learn more and congratulations to the staff and team at WRV for a fantastic day! https://lnkd.in/g2YSpj4F
