Leaders were identified as high-performing, passionate workers who are guiding their organizations through the reinvention of the industry. With more than four years at Lutheran Senior Services, currently serving as the Director of Nursing at Lenoir Woods, Jamie has increased resident satisfaction, staffing retention, and employee morale, and created innovative solutions to take additional work off her team, allowing them to focus on caring for residents. Leaders were identified as high-performing, passionate workers who know how to put their vision into action to advocate for older adults and the committed professionals who ensure their well-being. Courtny has played an integral role in recent major acquisitions, addressed gaps in service, increased CMS ratings, adopted new programs, and significantly improved our Home Health services with her innovative spirit. We are proud to share that Briley Tanner has been selected as a winner in the Rising Star Frontline category of the 2024 Honoring Excellence Award Program. Briley, Lifestyle Enrichment Coordinator at Concordia Village, has been recognized for her accomplishments, which include implementing a Horticulture Therapy program that incorporates residents in all levels of living as well as a volunteer component. She also has established an Art Club, Garden Club, landed a key donation to secure garden beds, and grew an active social media presence. She accepted her award at the Honoring Excellence Award Program presentation at the recent LeadingAge Illinois Annual Meeting.  Please join us in congratulating Briley!

Lutheran Hillside Village residents are staying active and having a blast playing chair volleyball. The activity has become so popular at the Peoria Life Plan Community that they meet three times a week to play! “It’s by far our most popular program,” said Joy Morris, MAOL, LNHA, Director of Community Enrichment. We’ve been busy celebrating welcoming the four Pennsylvania senior living communities to LSS. Our communities in Missouri and Illinois celebrated with Pennsylvania-specific cocktails and pretzels, while our Pennsylvania communities enjoyed toasted raviolis and gooey butter cake! "As we warmly welcome Diakon’s residents and team members into the LSS family, we are looking towards the future," said Adam Marles, LSS President and CEO. "Together as one, we will continue to build community, trust, and belonging."

It’s official. Today Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) welcomes Diakon’s four senior living communities, 1300 residents and 700 team members into the LSS family.    We look forward to Growing Together.
