I had Shensi on the podcast yesterday and she said something that hit a nerve. Something along the lines of: "When there is a candidate that we want, we go all in, we give one offer that is super competitive, and lean in as a team to ensure they feel wanted" I saw it in my sister's recruiting process. And makes such a huge difference. If you're looking for someone to hire and they are the right candidate. 1) Make them feel wanted and appreciated 2) Extend a competitive offer 3) Do your part to make them know you want them to join the team. Shensi multiple times took a red eye from New York to San Francisco to meet a candidate. Wow! And way before they have joined, make them part of the journey way before they joined. Share that close won email. Share that new hot lead that came in. Share the progress you are making. It goes a super long way. The podcast episode was fire and full of wisdom. Scheduled to be released next Monday.

There’s a wave of new startups helping small businesses digitize, expand and do more. All this innovation isn’t only exciting – it's going to lead to better and faster services for just about everyone. For nearly a decade, our Start Path startup engagement program has been supporting this great work and connecting with over 400 startups. Wonderful to work with the latest group of fintechs joining our Start Path Small Business track. One great examples of this spark of innovation: Parlay (Techstars '23) is using AI to help community banks and credit unions review loan applications so they can move faster and ultimately help more small businesses get approved. We're excited to announce our case study with TaxBit—the premier end-to-end compliance and reporting solution for the digital economy! Here's a look at TaxBit's integration journey with Merge: 🤔 Why did TaxBit outsource their accounting integrations to Merge? Merge’s accounting integrations had the broadest data coverage, their documentation was the most comprehensive, and the company’s position and reputation in the market stood out. 🧠 How does TaxBit use Merge's accounting integrations? Through the integrations, they're able to sync a wide range of fields with customers' accounting systems, such as journal entries, income statements, and invoices for payables and receivables. This ensures that journal entries can be synced between TaxBit and customers' accounting systems successfully. 😍 What are some of the benefits TaxBit has realized from using Merge? The accounting integrations have helped them expand to new markets in Latin America and Europe. In addition, they've been able to free up significant time for their engineers. Robin Shapiro, a Senior Product Manager at TaxBit, explains that “Using Merge, we’ve been able to free up 35% of the engineering hours dedicated to a given integration project. This has enabled us to focus on other high-impact initiatives and accelerate our development cycles.” You can learn more about TaxBit's experience with Merge by reading our full case study: https://hubs.li/Q02Kgr410

We're excited to announce our latest spotlight for Meet the Mergies—Tok Utsunomiya! You can read on to learn why Tok, our head of customer success, joined Merge, what he works on day-to-day, and what he enjoys about working here! 🎉 🤔 What attracted you to Merge? It came down to a few things: —The product: The problem that Merge was (and is) solving for was really intriguing, and I wanted to work with a product that would be core to our customers’ businesses. —The people: I had the chance to speak with several Mergies throughout the recruitment process and I was really impressed by the caliber of the people and the culture Merge was building. —The opportunity: I was really excited by the opportunity to help build Merge’s CS team and apply everything I’ve learned throughout my career. 💪 What does your typical day at Merge look like? CS is a wide-ranging function so I don’t think there’s a “typical” day here—which keeps things exciting. My north star for any day is to provide a great experience for our customers and make sure we are supporting them in achieving key business outcomes. Any work I take on should in some way support that north star; this includes speaking directly with our customers, refining our CS programs, growing our team to provide better coverage for our customers, advocating for customers’ product requests, coaching the CS team, and the list goes on! 😍 What do you like most about working at Merge? The people and the energy! We’re an in-person company, so getting to feel everyone’s collective passion for building Merge every day is super energizing. I also get to work alongside some of the smartest and most hard working people I’ve ever worked with (and some of the funniest as well). Lastly, we work really hard but also have a lot of fun with each other, whether that’s enjoying happy hours, pickleball tournaments, karaoke events, team dinners, and more.
