Meet Gabriella G., an incoming senior at Georgia Tech, studying Computer Science with concentrations in Intelligence and Media. This summer, she joined our IG Business Messaging Team as a Software Engineer Intern. Gabriella was drawn to Meta because of the opportunity to work on apps that have a large impact on people's daily lives, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. As an aspiring software developer, her internship experience has fully immersed her in the software development process, working on a high-impact project for the Instagram app. She has learned how to solve unexpected issues and expand her knowledge of app development. The best advice she received this summer was, “Consider the impact of the code you are writing and how it will be scaled in the future. When you are given a task, it is easy to focus solely on how to fix the issue at hand, but a great engineer also thinks about how their proposed solution will be built upon in the future and what are the best ways to complete the task while also supporting future innovation.” Gabriella says she is thankful to have this experience working at Meta and feels that the knowledge and skills she's gained will carry over into her future roles. After her internship ends, she plans to return to Georgia Tech to finish her last year and apply to full-time roles. #LifeAtMeta #MetaIntern

Meet Hannah Connell, a senior at the University of Michigan studying Cognitive Science, with minors in Computer Science and Statistics. This summer, she's joining our New York City office as a Data Engineering Intern on our Social Experience Multi-Team. "I work specifically with Facebook Stories, developing and maintaining pipelines that hold data on production, consumption, and feedback levels," Hannah explained. "My summer project involves leveraging this data to develop new metrics that help assess user retention and growth accounting for Stories." Hannah was drawn to Meta because of the opportunity to work on products that impact billions of people worldwide. "I wanted to make a meaningful contribution to the technologies here at Meta," she said. As a data enthusiast, Hannah's internship experience has aligned with her career goals. "This internship has introduced me to the world of data engineering, and I've gained the skills, knowledge, and network necessary to succeed in the field," she shared. Hannah's advice to fellow interns? "Don't be afraid to ask questions! Your peers and manager are there to support you, and asking questions is one of the most valuable things you can do for your own learning." #LifeAtMeta #MetaIntern
