Fact or Myth? It is important to us here at Nashville Rescue Mission to educate and inform about the problems faced by the homeless community. The negative stigma against those who face homelessness can lead to discrimination and hurt. Stigma negatively impacting one's mental health can also create employment and housing barriers for those who are experiencing homelessness. How can we combat this? Raising awareness! There are many reasons why someone may be experiencing homelessness. Traumatic brain injury, mental illness, dementia, substance abuse and trauma developmental disability. #factormyth #homelesscommunityeducation #NashvilleRescueMission

Thank you to Fox 17 for highlighting the need we have here at Nashville Rescue Mission. As the heat continues to rise this summer, we are seeing an increase in women and children needing services, specifically single mothers. We are currently at capacity at the Linda and Mike Curb Women's Center. However, we never turn anyone away from receiving God's grace. If you would like to help you can click the link below to donate. https://lnkd.in/enRrN-GT #NashvillleRescueMission #donations #nashvillenonprofit https://lnkd.in/eQQa_B5b

John went from working two jobs and keeping a roof over his head to enduring a debilitating surgery that cost him his ability to work and keep his home-and it almost stole his hope. Then he recalled a friend at Nashville Rescue Mission...who helped him find hope again! Would you like to hear more of John's story? With heartfelt appreciation, we acknowledge the contribution of our friends at Advancing Women in Nashville (AWIN)! AWIN members selflessly offered their time and skills to support various staff members and programs. Their efforts were seen in serving lunch to 250 guests, arranging hygiene supplies, assisting in the computer lab, and creating and assisting in our carnival activities for young children and their mothers. Special recognition goes to our Board Chair, LeEllen Phillips-Coggin, an AWIN member, whose idea it was to unite our organizations. Her vision was to bring about a profound impact on the lives of the women, mothers, and children residing at the Mission. Thank you, AWIN! #NashvilleRescueMissionVolunteers #AdvancingWomeninNashville #nashvillevolunteeroppurtunity

The Strobel House has opened its doors! The Strobel House provides support to residents through services such as medical aid, addiction treatment, mental health support and career assistance. 🎉 The Strobel House, featuring 90 homes for local individuals who are experiencing homelessness, is the first permanent supportive housing facility. The Strobel House was created in honor of the late Father Charlie Strobel who dedicated his life to help those who are experiencing homelessness. Nashville Rescue Mission is thrilled to partner with organizations serving the community experiencing homelessness. ❤️
