From August 1 through October 14, Neiman Marcus Group is raising money in support of Red Cross Disaster Relief. As climate change increases the frequency and severity of natural disasters, the American Red Cross is expanding its capacity to deliver emergency aid and execute large-scale relief and recovery efforts. The Red Cross currently responds to about 65,000 natural disasters each year, ranging from single-family home fires to large-scale hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. For over a decade, we have partnered with the American Red Cross as a Disaster Responder Member, contributing over $2.1 million to help feed, shelter, and provide financial assistance to communities impacted by natural disasters. We’re proud to Lead with Love by extending this partnership to our retail stores through our current point-of-sale campaign, allowing customers to donate to Red Cross Disaster Relief directly at checkout. As Tropical Storm Debby impacts communities across the Southeast, we’re reminded of the importance of programs like Red Cross Disaster Relief, helping to stabilize and uplift communities impacted by climate change. Over 500 Red Cross volunteers are on the ground now with the anticipation of 1,000 volunteers by end of week. Join us in supporting families affected by disasters big and small by making a donation to Red Cross Disaster Relief at checkout in your local Neiman Marcus store or online here: https://lnkd.in/eFkYbEjv

At NMG, our core value of “Be All Heart” empowers us all to be socially and environmentally responsible, contribute meaningfully to our communities, and foster inclusion with a sense of belonging. Last week, we proudly launched our new and improved All Heart employee giving and volunteerism platform, powered by Deed. On launch day alone, our NMG associates came together to embody what it means to “Be All Heart” –– with more than 1,000 associates logging into the platform to use their matching gift benefit and donate over $100,000 to 124 deserving non-profits! Associate giving and volunteerism are important facets of our ESG strategy. As we track progress towards our FY25 goals of 7,500 associate volunteer hours through NMG’s All Heart program and $3,000,000 raised for charity through our Heart of Neiman Marcus & Bergdorf Goodness foundations, this new platform streamlines the giving and volunteering processes, making it even easier for our associates to Lead with Love in our communities.

Eric Severson, Chief People, ESG, & Belonging Officer, recently sat down with Dina Costandina Aletra of Medium’s Authority Magazine to discuss creating a culture where associates feel empowered to be their authentic selves and the strategies we put in place to cultivate a culture of Belonging here at NMG.    "At Neiman Marcus Group, we define belonging as diversity + equity + inclusion = belonging. Belonging is the outcome we focus on because none of those other things matter unless they result in a person feeling like they belong," Eric shared. "Teaching belonging is about using evidence-based techniques for communicating with others, listening, and resolving conflict. It’s about teaching people how to interact with those who have different beliefs, listen, negotiate, and reach agreements on how to work together effectively."    Read the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/eZSudhQx

Bergdorf Goodman is thrilled to announce the opening of a new CELINE shop on the iconic retailer’s third floor. The space juxtaposes natural stones like gray travertine and antique marbles with warmer materials such as oak, brass, and antique mirrors - conceptualized by CELINE artistic and image director Hedi Slimane. A collection of works by American artists bring the space to life, including a fiberglass piece by John Duff and a signature geometric painting by Richard Tinkler. Dedicated to women’s ready-to-wear, the shop features CELINE's current seasonal collection, and will soon be home to an exclusive capsule from the winter 2024 “La Collection de L’arc de Triomphe.” Drawing upon the “golden age of CELINE” and the 1960's, the collection features Slimane’s reinterpretation of classic mod styles. The exclusive selection is set to debut in September, but customers are invited to Bergdorf Goodman to experience the new shop today.

Today is National Disability Independence Day, commemorating the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA, 34 years ago. In addition to the anniversary of this landmark legislation, July also serves as Disability Pride Month, a time to honor the unique experiences and cultural contributions of over 1 billion people worldwide with apparent or non-apparent disabilities.    At Neiman Marcus Group, we’re proud to cultivate a culture of Belonging where associates are welcomed, valued, and empowered to be their best. Our NMG Way of Working provides flexibility for all of our associates, and our Abilities Associate Community Network (ACN) provides a supportive community for associates with disabilities while advancing inclusion, accessibility, and a stigma-free workplace. This year, our disability inclusion efforts were recognized by Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities and earned us a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion designation with a score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index®.     We’re also proud to highlight our Disability at NMG: Belonging, Accessibility, and Accommodations Guide, which provides an overview of the benefits we provide to associates who need support with their apparent or non-apparent disability. As part of our commitment to support associates in every aspect of their personal and professional journey, we proudly offer benefits including our Employee Assistance Program for full and part-time employees, short- and long-term disability, as well as Fidelity’s ABLE savings accounts and special needs trusts.    We proudly offer many services to our customers to make their shopping experience more accessible with a range of adaptive wardrobe solutions, including Velcro seams, magnetic closures, waistband modifications, and prosthesis pockets to ensure their purchases are accessible, comfortable, and customized to their needs.    NMG is proud to continue advancing disability inclusion. Last week, Bergdorf Goodman welcomed acclaimed actress, Sophie Turner, to the launch of the St-Germain Spritz Counter. Sophie played bartender at this reimagining of Bergdorf Goodman’s iconic beauty counter, surprising stars and VIPs as she hopped behind the bar to serve this summer’s signature cocktail, the St-Germain Hugo Spritz. Sophie’s bartending skills—and ultra-chic ensemble—were a highlight of the event, a prime example of the unique experiences we are proud to bring our valued customers.    Photo Credits: Bryan Bedder for Getty Images

At Neiman Marcus Group, NMG WOW (Way of Working) is a fundamental part of our NMG Way culture that empowers all our associates to do their best work, full stop. It’s comprised of four pillars: I Work Smarter, I am Present, I Integrate Life & Work, and I Empower & Am Empowered.      In support of the ‘I Work Smarter’ pillar, we recently launched an enterprise-wide campaign, challenging our teams to reinvest their time into work that drives impact, and empowering them to challenge whatever stands in the way of working at their best.      As our teams strive to prioritize their time, be present, and integrate life and work, we’re spotlighting a few associates who embody what it means to Work Smarter. We connected with Jacob Jarvis, Kellen Williams, and Roland M.––all of whom were recently recognized for the impact of their work smarter efforts! Jacob has maximized efficiency and transformed existing processes at our distribution centers to enhance our service level and reduce shipping times for customers; Kellen automated reports and improved processes to drive efficiency for our planning teams; and Roland boosted associate engagement and improved project quality for our Bergdorf Goodman Docents who educate visitors on the incredible history of Bergdorf’s and everything the store has to offer. Check out what working smarter means to them!

Neiman Marcus Group is proud to be named a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion by Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities Disabilities for the second year in a row, earning a 100 on the Disability Equality Index®. The Disability Equality Index is the leading independent resource for the annual benchmarking of corporate disability inclusion, helping companies build a roadmap of measurable, tangible actions to achieve and advance disability inclusion and equality. As we remain committed to ensuring everyone feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to be their best, Disability Inclusion remains a central piece of our culture of Belonging. In FY24, our efforts to improve NMG’s enterprise-wide accessibility have included partnering with Deque, a diverse and women-owned business, to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access our external digital content, as well as implementing career development programs tailored for associates with disabilities, such as Disability:IN’s Early Career Talent Accelerator. We are honored to be a top-scorer and receive this prestigious recognition, and we look forward to continuing our work in further advancing workplace equity in line with prominent external standards like the Disability Equality Index.
