Today is National Disability Independence Day, commemorating the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990. We work with amazing organizations like ECHO and SPARC Solutions to ensure our community members with disabilities have the resources they need. We’re currently working with SPARC to construct a cardboard boat for the Cardboard Boat Regatta at Lake Anne in August. We’re incredibly proud to share that Nohman Ishaq, MSML, CUBDP, VP of Retail Business Development, was inducted as the Board Chairman of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. We were the host of the July Networking Night where the ceremony took place. Nohman has been an active member of the chamber for many years and is excited to take on a leadership role to shape the future of the group and support business growth in the Reston area. The Emerging Professionals group at Northwest hosted an improv night at Arts Herndon recently. The event also served as a fundraiser for Veterans Moving Forward, an organization focused on training and providing service animals to veterans at no cost to the recipient. Through Northwest employee donations and a company match, $1,000 was provided to Veterans Moving Forward for their programs and services.
