Ariel Ofenloch is a dedicated Safety Coordinator for O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR) who was born and raised in Chicago, where she feels truly at home. She often travels to Houston, Austin, and Baltimore, for quality time with her cherished nieces and nephews. Outside of work, Ariel enjoys perfecting her bowling skills, exploring her creative side through painting, and discovering new culinary delights around the city. Ariel’s passion for safety is matched only by her love for family, creativity, and good food. 1. If you were to create a mascot for the safety department, what animal or character would best represent safety awareness? Fred The Safety Frog (Shout out to @moise for snapping the picture and @MichelleDiaz for jazzin’ him up! 2. If you had to summarize your approach to safety in one sentence, what would it be? Staying aware of risks, and encouraging everyone to take responsibility for keeping things safe. 3. What’s the most memorable safety lesson you’ve learned from your own experience? Lead by example! 4. Describe a safety-related jingle or slogan you’d create to inspire your team. I wouldn’t create one, the Safety Dance song is just so perfect. 5. If you could make safety training as entertaining as a Netflix series, what would the pilot episode be about? In the pilot of “Roof Rescue: Safety Showdown,” roofing teams from across the country face off in a high-stakes battle of skill and safety. Under the watchful eye of the host, Tim Allen (aka Tim the Tool Man Taylor), they tackle tough roofing tasks while trying not to trip over their own safety gear. With challenges that test their balance and their patience, the teams must prove they can nail the job without missing a step—literally. Expect dramatic moments, unexpected mishaps, and plenty of roof-top antics. The episode wraps up with a comedic twist as the teams discover that safety doesn’t just save lives; it makes for some seriously entertaining TV. #commercialroofing #safetyfirst

Wall of Shame Friday... Shared with me a few days ago by one of our travel managers/technician - Alma.... lots going on here but in the center is a portal with many attempts at sealing... wonder how much was the total cost of the various repairs, trips, different incompatible materials, damage below to building let alone the roof system and the decking vs. calling a professional roofing contractor and installing the proper flashing in the fist place. 1 trip, warranty still in tact...How long will the owner let this go on, one mistake after another... Wall of Shame Friday... Seeing more of these foam roofs with problems as in the corners where the coating is gone and foam exposed, add a mechanical contractor and possibly a roofer who doesn't know what needs to be done to install lines through the foam roof, so they run them through an air vent... Next time call O'Hara's Son roofing for help with any of your roof related projects to address the proper flashing methods.... 847-255-3600 or 224-601-4069, https://lnkd.in/g5JWeRF7

High-Visibility Clothing is safe in more ways than one! Think twice about the colors of your work clothes in summer and on hot days. Many know that wearing black when it's hot can make you feel warmer than wearing other colors. This happens because black absorbs sunlight instead of reflecting it, which makes you absorb more heat. Interestingly, dark green has a similar effect. Scientists at Japan’s National Institute for Environmental Studies studied how polo shirts in nine different colors kept cool over five minutes in the sun. They found that white stayed the coolest, followed by yellow, gray, red, purple, blue, green, dark green, and black. So it looks like the good news is that high-visibility clothing is not just for visibility but also for staying cool on those roofs on these hot summer days! Here is a great reminder from O'Hara's Son Roofing Company's Service and Maintenance Director Sam Caniglia: It's a good idea to have your roof inspected for damage after severe weather. Call the big roof pros at: 847-255-3600 #commercialroofing
Wall of Shame Friday... Not shaming work this week, the shame here is that there is much repair work to do... After one of the past storms one of my co-workers at O'Hara's Son Roofing shared this picture from their clubhouse in Geneva Illinois right after the storm....Think they need a roofer and interior work...Storms have kept some of us busy the last month....Time for roof inspections and preventative maintenance to see if any of these storms damaged your roof in any way that can cause leaks down the road... especially before winter sets in...
