We asked one of our Partners, Alex Thompson, some quick fire questions about all things ERP.. 1. What have you found candidates are looking for most in a new role? A lot of candidates are looking for that golden opportunity within an End User. The best opportunities may be a local position on a hybrid basis or a fully remote opportunity, ideally where they can work on a full life cycle implementation. Typically, End Users pay a little less than Partners, but most candidates are happy to take a little bit of a pay cut to focus on one project with minimal to no travel. With MS Partner roles, they are looking for that career progression into a true Architect position and a culture where they feel they are having an impact, working on exciting projects and getting those full life cycles under their belt, building up their experience. With this experience, the opportunities to move up the salary scale becomes possible. 2. Why are people leaving current roles? a. Lack of projects/Job Security - There are some candidates on the bench right now and there has been some lay-offs over the last 12 months within the Partner channels, so any Technical or Functional talent that are on the bench begin to worry about their future and then become open on the market. b. Money - There are still some candidates out there who are underpaid, this is typical with the candidates who may have joined an end user straight from college or spend a long time in the same job. c. Travel - a big driver for a move. Since covid the travel demands did change as it used to be fairly normal to travel 75% in the Partner channels. Now 50% is typical, but as people’s lives change, kids come along, the work/life balance factor becomes more important. This can push candidates to Partners with less travel, or End User opportunities with minimal travel. d. Remote opportunities – this is still a driver, especially for Technical talent. What are the most in demand skillsets you’re seeing in D365 F&O? D365 F&O functional talent, particularly those with Manufacturing experience. This industry has been booming with new ERP implementations. The PMA (Project Management & Accounting) module has become more in demand of late and is still quite a niche talent. Local talent too, sometimes End Users are fishing in a smaller pond depending on where they are based and there is real driver to get people to work on-site rather than remote at the moment. What is most exciting about your market right now? The ERP market is always changing and it’s very exciting, the move to the cloud, the use of AI in decision making and the customization available for each industry. Research estimates that the global ERP market with nearly double over the next 5 years, so demand for talent will only increase. ERP is so vital and if you have this skill-set, the future looks very bright! Thanks, Alex 🙂 #OPTechnology #ERP #D365F&O

Unlimited PTO is becoming an increasingly popular benefit offered by companies, but often has mixed reviews.. Pros include – 1. Boosts morale and wellbeing 2. Reduces burnout 3. Simplifies administration (eliminates the need to track accruals/carryovers) 4. Promotes work life balance Cons include – 1. Potential for abuse – employees taking excessive time off 2. Underutilization – others are scared to take off due to fear of judgment 3. No payout for unused time 4. Inconsistent use What are your thoughts on unlimited PTO? Is it the way forward, or not? #OPTechnology #UnlimitedPTO #CompanyBenefits
