Clean energy is for everyone. Puerto Rican residents interested in applying for the program can visit Programa Acceso Solar to learn more. Installations will begin in Fall 2024. https://lnkd.in/ehxS3pgg
We are thrilled to partner with Generac to bring clean and resilient solar energy to low-income households in Puerto Rico that are disproportionately affected by long and frequent power outages. Generac, in partnership with Palmetto, has been awarded a grant by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as part of the Puerto Rico Energy Resilience Fund -- a program investing in renewable and resilient energy infrastructure in Puerto Rico, which has historically been plagued by frequent blackouts, high energy prices, and overall unreliability. We are proud of the extensive impact we’ve already made in switching hundreds of thousands of American households to solar energy by bringing together sales, financing, partner installations, and customer support into one seamless technology platform -- and we are excited to expand this same customer-first, digital-forward approach outside the shores of the continental USA. https://lnkd.in/ewkV_3vs

Our thoughts are with the communities impacted by #HurricaneBeryl. Natural disasters remind us of the importance of resilience and preparedness, like ensuring our energy systems are robust and reliable. Solar energy systems, for example, are designed to withstand extreme conditions, including hurricane-force winds. Preparedness goes beyond energy systems, however - it includes having an emergency plan, securing loose objects around your property, and ensuring you have adequate supplies. These steps can make a significant difference in minimizing damage and ensuring safety during a hurricane. To all those in the path of Beryl and to the dedicated teams working tirelessly to restore and maintain power, we stand with you. Stay strong, stay safe. More information on preparing your property & solar panels for severe storms can be found 👉: https://lnkd.in/eEaggw9r Your Palmetto Asset Management team is tracking system outages in the effective areas and is available to support you through this time. We were delighted to be part of such an impactful event! Thank you Collision Conf for having us.
Communications & Partnerships | Expertise in Community Engagement, Stakeholder Involvement, Public Relations | Contributing to change in the Transportation and Energy sectors
Collision did not disappoint. Even though it was an absolute zoo, and I often had to sprint from stage to stage, the presenters were top notch. The Collision team really picked la creme de la creme of speakers. I spent most of my time stage hopping, but one startup really impressed me. Emergency Management Logistics Canada is helping communities better prepare for disasters by synchronizing who can offer what in case of an emergency evac. So smart & so so needed. I took 20 pages of scribbles frantically trying to capture all the fantastical projects currently underway, and trying to understand who the stewards are behind them. My favourites were (not surprisingly) in the climate tech space: ✒Hydrostor is storing renewable energy underground by using 20x less land and costing 6x less than what's required to store energy in batteries. I had no clue this was even possible... ✒ Palmetto is a clean energy marketplace that leverages third-party services to lower operating costs and pass those savings onto homeowners, ultimately making clean energy adoption more accessible and affordable for Americans. 🗯 Does Toronto have a marketplace like this? ✒ Partnership for Inclusive Innovation is "disrupting suboptimal processes" that cities are experiencing by initiating public-private partnerships aimed to solve unique problems faced by each independent city. Loved her sea-level sensor example! 🗯 Does Toronto have an initiative like this? ✒ "Net Zero" is the wrong goal if we want to achieve true climate sustainability. Net zero means zero emissions, but does not address the 1T ton of carbon that also needs to be removed from the air. "Climate Restoration" is more accurate. So, how do you remove carbon from the air that doesn't involve planting a zillion trees? There are options, and they are cool. ✒ eVTOL aircrafts in the air by next year? According to Archer, the answer is a definitive YES I was surprisingly sad by the end of day 3. Collision exceeded my expectations 100% because of the speakers. So, to the Collision Conf organizers and to all the speakers 📣 Thank you for sharing what you're doing with people like me; People who have an endless curiosity about what kind of impact others are making, and how the heck they are doing it successfully. #collisionconf

Kudos to our very own Jason Hamilton for his contributions at the #CollisionConf, spreading knowledge and excitement about the future of #cleanenergy!
Had a great time repping Palmetto at Collision Conf in #Toronto this past week discussing the evolution of #smartcities with some very smart and interesting experts on public private partnerships, #sustainable buildings, and meeting people and communities where they are on their #cleanenergy journey. I also had the chance to see #entrepreneurs pitch their clean energy ideas and business models, hear from experts and investors on the evolution of #AI, and jot down some notes re: ways companies are developing meaningful and engaging relationships with their customers. I left inspired by our collective potential to solve real #climate and #energy challenges. Shout out to Debra Lam at Partnership for Inclusive Innovation, Bernd Oswald at GROPYUS and Edward Clowes with Skynewsuk.com for the awesome discussion. See you next time!
