⛴️🇺🇸 Austal USA has conducted a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a final assembly station in Alabama. It was a momentous day in Mobile, Alabama as we celebrated the “groundbreaking ceremony” for our latest #shiplift project for Austal USA! The new Final Assembly Facility will include the safest and most reliable method for ship #launching and #drydocking, with the addition of our innovative and industry leading 18,000T #pearlsonshiplift system! The shiplift will measure approximately 450’ long x 125’ wide, and when commissioned will be the widest platform in North & South America! This new project will support a multitude of US Navy and U.S. Coast Guard programs and will be constructed by the world class team from Kiewit and with the support of our design partners from GEI Consultants, Inc. and EUA. Construction Progress Update!! Work is approximately 50% complete on our new, 25,000T #shiplift system for BAE Systems, Inc. This state-of-the-art #pearlsonshiplift system will be the largest vertical lift in both North & South America, and will support both US Navy and Commercial Ship Repair customers in Jacksonville, Florida! When evaluating different types of #drydocks, BAE Systems looked for a solution that would ensure the safety of their customers' vessels, a solution that would operate effectively & efficiently, and a solution that would ensure a bright and reliable future for the #shipyard with the industries lowest operation & maintenance costs, and with all of those factors in mind, the answer was simple...
