  • On National Disability Independence Day, we celebrate the impact of the Americans with Disabilities Act, passed 34 years ago on July 26, 1990. We know there is still work to be done, and we are committed to improving disability rights to create a more equitable world for all. Because people with disabilities deserve to be in control of their own lives. No matter what.

  • Before last weekend's opening of "Bodies in Flux" at Alice, a group of staff, supporters and project participants experienced a private viewing of the work at our Cincinnati Surgical Center. Created by artist Asha White, "Bodies in Flux" is a powerful exploration of reproductive rights, bodily autonomy, and the power of communal empathy through art and storytelling. Experience the pieces yourself at Alice in OTR every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6-10 PM now through August 10 🖼️

  • Sex looks different for everyone, and limiting our understanding of sex to just penetration is, well...boring. 🥱 For people with physical disabilities, adapting expressions of sexuality to meet their needs, preferences, and desires is part of the journey. It may take more planning or more communication, but it is possible and pleasurable! 🌈🌟 #DisabilityPrideMonth [Image description: a series of blue gradient slides with clouds, stars, and rainbows in the disability pride flag colors explaining facts about sex and pleasure for people with disabilities.]

  • Today we officially welcome our new President and CEO, Nan Whaley, to Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region. Nan's dedication to advancing reproductive health and education in Ohio has been demonstrated time and time again in her work as a public servant. Her leadership comes at a pivotal point in our history, where increasing access to abortion and meeting the needs of our community has never been more important. Nan is committed to continuing Planned Parenthood’s long history of protecting our community and expanding the ways we can offer accessible options. No matter what. This is a team effort, and it requires support from donors, community partners and elected officials alike. To support our mission as we enter this new chapter, visit ppswo.info/donate ⬅️

  • Today marks two years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending federal protections for abortion access. Since then, we've witnessed attacks on sexual and reproductive health on all fronts. But we have also seen historic wins, like right here in Ohio, where the passing of the Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment last November enshrined abortion rights in the state constitution. But the fight isn't over. We know people should have the freedom to make their own decisions about their bodies, lives, and futures. We are committed to challenging remaining restrictions on abortion, and to expanding the reproductive health care services that our community needs. You can help support our mission to make reproductive health care accessible for all with a one-time or monthly donation: ppswo.info/donate
