It’s that time of year again! We are accepting applications for Pretty Purposed program participants for the 2024-2025 school year 🌟🎒 Do you know a girl aged 9-18 who could benefit from Girls Circles, mentoring, youth led advocacy, and enrichment? The deadline to apply is September 30th using the QR code or this link: https://bit.ly/46Bfv8u. We are also recruiting for program mentors and facilitators looking to make a positive impact on the next generation by helping to lead our programs! Site facilitators earn a stipend and commit to 6-8 hours per month leading Girls Circles and attending trips. Mentors are volunteers that support facilitators approximately 4 hours per month by helping with activities, chaperoning, and making personal connections with girls. The deadline to apply is August 31st using the QR code or this link: https://bit.ly/3WUtAL2. We currently support Dinwiddie elementary schools, all of Petersburg Public Schools, Carter G Woodson Middle School (Hopewell), our Petersburg YMCA Community Site, and Sussex Elementary School. Happy #NationalInternDay! 🎉📚 Since our inception, we've proudly provided quality, nurturing, and equitable internships for 12 amazing students from Virginia State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Virginia Union University typically majoring in social work or education. They bring new perspectives and participate alongside our staff in all aspects of the work, including fundraising, building advocacy toolkits, attending Girls Circles, planning events and more. #ThankfulThursday 🫶🏽🫶🏽😍 Earlier this month we celebrated our incredible Program Facilitators at The Boathouse! These amazing individuals serve as teachers, counselors, social workers and so much more, all while leading biweekly Girls Circles and chaperoning field trips at the program sites we serve. We are deeply grateful for their commitment and passion. Thank you for making a lasting impact on our girls! 💖
