What can you do to stop therapists from leaving the field? Offer growth opportunities. The top problem PTs and other rehab clinicians cited in our recent survey was not being able to grow in their career. Lets do something about it. We’ve invited practice owners who are leading the industry in staff retention to share what’s working for them. This roundtable discussion, Creating Growth Opportunities for Rehab Therapists, will stream on August 20 at 2pm EST. Speakers: - Dr. Josh Funk, DPT Founder / CEO, Rehab 2 Perform - Michelle Collie, PT, MS, DPT, OCS CEO, Highbar Physical Therapy - Nick Weber, MSPT, ATC COO, Team Rehabilitation Physical Therapy Prompt co-founders Mike Dwyer and Adam Baliatico, and The Clinician Transition group founders Emma Brady and Emily Kelly will also take part in the conversation. If your PT practice is sticking with old software to “save a few bucks” on a new one… It’s most likely having the opposite effect. Cumbersome EMR software can create a lot of costs that may not be obvious. And can seriously risk your financial stability and growth. These costs include: - Higher than necessary staffing expenses - Slow reimbursements with excess denials - Underbooked schedules - Unfilled cancellations - Overworked providers (which can burn them out and risk major staffing challenges) - Poor patient experiences (+ the poor word of mouth/reviews that follow…) Great technology (and support from the team that makes it) has become just as crucial in rehab care as any other industry. Not just to reach your efficiency potential, But to maximize your profitability and prevent major costs you can’t afford and you won’t see coming until it’s too late.

  • Why are PTs and other rehab therapists changing careers? This was the leading question behind our recent survey, where we asked clinicians who recently transitioned or are considering it what led to their decision. Respondents could choose multiple factors; these were some of the top findings: #1. Lack of professional growth opportunities: 85% #2. Insufficient salary and benefits: 73% #3. Emotional burnout: 68% #4. Work-life balance issues: 61% #5. Excessive workload: 55% As practice owners look for ways to create a more sustainable workplace – and stand out in the increasingly competitive market for great candidates – these concerns should be top of mind. Share these findings with your leadership team and fellow practice owners, and let these takeaways lead to productive conversations to make traditional patient care a more rewarding line of work. • “I have been so excited by some of the small details I already see in Prompt that makes a biller do a happy dance.” 💃🙌 Today’s #PromptTestimonialTuesday features an (especially delighted) email our customer success team received (name anonymized to protect privacy). We get messages like this all the time.   And we have to admit: It feels really good knowing Prompt not only helps PT billers (and providers, clinicians, owners, front desk staff, etc.) get their work done really efficiently – It also makes them happier while doing it. When’s the last time your EMR made you do a happy dance? 😉

  • In our recent survey of clinicians leaving the field we asked: “What would you improve about the industry as a whole?” We heard some thoughtful answers and suggestions. Their responses hit on some major themes: - Expanding the non-clinical education that clinicians receive during school - Improving and rethinking the current reimbursement models - Offering more alternatives to these models for generating revenue - Educating the wider healthcare industry about what PTs do and its importance across patient care - Increasing public awareness on the benefits of rehab therapy for various health issues and overall well-being Thank you once again to The Clinician Transition for making this survey possible, and for the invaluable perspectives they shared! We’re hoping these insights and opinions can lead to productive conversations on these topics and contribute to positive change in our industry. Find the full report on why clinicians are leaving traditional patient care, linked in the comments.
