Queer Capita is a 501(c)3 non-profit diversity development organization for LGBTQ+ professionals in the music industry. With over 150+ companies and 350+ members, Queer Capita produces professional development workshops, member events, and mentorship programs to positively shape the music industry into a space where Queer professionals can thrive. Founded in the fall of 2021 by Queer professionals, Queer Capita’s mission is to unite the Queer workforce in music, expand the collective impact of our members through compelling partnerships, create new pathways for Queer students and aspiring professionals to work in the music industry, and advocate for the career growth and advancement of our members. Queer Capita achieves these goals through professional development workshops, member events, unique mentorship opportunities. It is Queer Capita’s aim to help shape the music industry into one where Queer professionals can not only work, but thrive.

Today we’re announcing the results of our The State of the LGBTQ+ Music Industry Professional Survey in partnership with The Orchard and Billboard. This survey explores key aspects of the LGBTQ+ experience, including the current sentiment of LGBTQ+ identity in the profession, workplace comfort levels, and prevalent industry concerns. After surveying nearly 300 LGBTQ+ music business workers the results speak to how Queer professionals sentiment toward the music industry.
