8080 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive will house a next-generation quantum campus that will help propel Chicago's future. Shaped by our collective vision, the site will create wide-ranging community and economic benefits, from creating thousands of jobs to enhancing access to Steelworkers Park and Lake Michigan.

Congratulations Mark Goeden, Related Midwest Vice President of Construction, honored as one of Crain's Chicago Business's Notable Leaders in Commercial Real Estate. In his role at Related Midwest, Mark oversees self-performed contracting work for the company's affordable housing portfolio totaling more than 10,000 units. As a founding member of HIRE360 Partners, Mark has long been dedicated to expanding career opportunities in the construction trades for women and minority populations.

Today, Related Midwest joined Governor J.B. Pritzker, Mayor Johnson, PsiQuantum and other partners to announce the development of Illinois Quantum & Microelectronics Park, a planned 128-acre quantum campus anchored by PsiQuantum on the former U.S. Steel South Works site along the Lake Michigan shoreline. This project marks the initial phase of a broader 400-acre master plan for the site, and is an important investment in Chicago's future as technology and infrastructure hub. We look forward to working with the community on this exciting development.

Will Tippens, Senior Director of Planning at Related Midwest, has been appointed by Mayor Brandon Johnson’s office to be a part of the Cut the Tape Task Force, which aims to streamline and expedite development processes in Chicago. At Related Midwest, Will coordinates all municipal agency communications and applications relating to zoning, entitlements, building permits and other work with regulatory agencies. His experience and expertise will play an important role in helping this initiative to make a difference in Chicago’s neighborhoods.

Thank you Meaghan Kane Benjamin, who presented to Related Midwest's small business mentorship program last week. Meaghan coached mentees in leadership and partnership communication strategies in listening, storytelling, and brain-coupling techniques which elevate connection, confidence, and desired outcomes. Related Midwest's small business mentorship program helps these businesses learn, build relationships, and propel their organizations to new successes.

Summer fun and activities brought the community together at Lathrop. Lathrop hosted several events including a Picnic and Paddle event and the annual Schools Out BBQ with lawn games, face painting and a DJ.

Related Midwest is excited to welcome 11 interns into our Chicago office. As part of an intern class across Related’s portfolio, the Chicago interns work in several departments including development, architecture and design, construction, and marketing. We are proud to provide interns with the opportunity to explore the industry and gain experience in their field of interest. Here’s to a great summer with our 2024 intern class!

Related Midwest hosted its third Curating Connections networking event, bringing together Related's diverse partners in the construction, development, and architecture industries in Chicago. The gathering was themed around how the construction industry has the ability to shape our communities and featured a panel with Bobby Ibarra, Ibarra Group, Calvin Jenkins, Community Play Lot Builders, Cristina Beran, Chicago Voice and Data Authority, Owen Pitman, MIKK/DLP, moderated by Don Biernacki, Related Midwest. The evening also featured refreshments by Casa Humilde Brewery.

Related Midwest was selected by the Ann Arbor Housing Commission to co-develop housing in downtown Ann Arbor.
