Attention men aged 18-44 – we're seeking research participants just like you! The Healthy Nevada Project has teamed up with Million Marker for a six-month intervention study focusing on reducing exposure to chemicals that disrupt hormone function. Participants will learn about environmental health and strategies to minimize chemical exposures.    The study includes a mail-in urine test, and a personalized report of results to further help limit exposure. The Renown Annual Neuroscience Symposium is Aug. 17 & 18! This two-day educational event will cover many topics related to recent advances in neurovascular science, which include stroke rehabilitation, neurosurgical interventions, pharmacology in anticoagulation medication and much more.     The symposium is eligible for continuing medical education (CME) credit. Breathe new life into your career as a Respiratory Therapist! Renown has partnered with Great Basin College to bring northern Nevada's first and only Respiratory Care Science program directly to all healthcare career hopefuls across the region.     Designed to be accessible and student-centered, this 18-month accelerated program combines lab and clinical experience across many healthcare settings. Graduates of the program will earn an Associate's of Applied Science (AAS) in Cardio-Respiratory Care Science.    The first cohort of the degree program will begin in Spring 2025, with applications due by Dec. 6, 2024. Renown Health is honored to celebrate the many cancer survivors in our community and those who continue to #FightTheGoodFight against cancer. In recognition of World Cancer Support Month this August, we are pleased to invite you to our inaugural Cancer Survivorship Event on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mack Auditorium at Renown Regional Medical Center.    Experts from the American Cancer Society - Nevada, Nevada Cancer Coalition, Access to Healthcare Network (AHN), Northern Nevada HOPES, Cancer Community Clubhouse, Katie’s Collective and Healthy Nevada Project will be offering a variety of resources to all attendees.    The William N. Pennington Cancer Institute is also running a nutrition drink donation drive! Bring your unopened, shelf-stable protein shakes to the event, or you can drop off your donation ahead of time at Renown Regional.    We'll see you on the 10th!

If you've visited one of our hospitals, chances are you've met one of the many Renown Pet Therapy teams walking around with adorable pups, known for bringing smiles to our patients and visitors. These volunteers witness firsthand the impactful care our team members provide and understand how the power of pet therapy can make a genuine difference in our patients' lives.     Volunteers Dave, Teri and their companion "Betty Crocker" praised our ICU nursing team for their outstanding efforts in a recent letter, noting how our nurses care deeply for the emotional well-being of patients and their families and go out of their way to ensure their dog-loving patients get special time with Betty.
