RTI Donor Services recognized and celebrated 15 years of partnership with both Midwest Transplant Network and LifeSource last week. Over this time, our partnerships have honored donor families and enhanced patients’ lives through tissue donation and transplantation. In addition to celebrating these milestones, the RTI Donor Services team worked with LifeSource on a rapid problem-solving event to further increase efficiencies between our organizations. We are very grateful for these impactful partnerships and look forward to continuing our shared mission of advancing tissue donation and transplantation.

August is National Minority Donor Awareness Month (NMDAM)—a collaborative effort to save and improve the quality of life in diverse communities by creating a positive culture for organ, eye, and tissue donation. Why is NMDAM needed? 60% of patients on the national transplant waiting list are from multicultural communities. The need for donation and transplantation is more pronounced in minority communities, where disproportionately higher rates of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease contribute to organ failure, especially kidney failure. You can find resources to share and read more about NMDAM at nmag1.org and DonateLife.net 💙💚 #DonateLife #NMDAM2024 NMDAM is a collaborative effort of the National Organ, Eye and Tissue Donation Multicultural Action Group (NMAG).
