We're so thankful to everyone who has donated backpacks and school supplies this year! Now that school is right around the corner for kiddos in our community, many of our programs have started hosting backpack distribution events. We have a couple more this weekend, so we'd really benefit from more backpacks! If you or your organization have been thinking about it, now is the time. Our Meadowview Family Resource Center staff did an excellent job hosting "Family Fun Day" Saturday at Woodbine Park. There was a face painter, hot dogs and burgers, a bounce house, a DJ playing in the background, and several organizations set up at their booths, offering valuable resources to the community. It was a delight meeting these wonderful ladies from the Sacramento Maharlika Lions Foundation today. They stopped by to drop off 100 backpacks and many extra school supplies for the kids we serve in the community!
