144 years ago, our mission to build secure tomorrows was born. Our story began on August 6th, 1880, when Russell Dorr founded the Bankers Association of Minnesota, the first life insurance company in Minnesota. As our company has grown and evolved, we’ve never lost sight of those who depend on us. 💚 We're thankful for everyone who makes up #TeamSecurianFinancial! Our final intern spotlight this summer is Tae Kosmo! 🌟 As a product analyst intern, Tae has helped improve our products and services using data analysis, research and business knowledge. “This internship has allowed me to have a better idea going into my senior year of possible careers I could pursue after graduation. I also love that Securian gives back to the community, specifically the support they provide to the Page Education Foundation, of which I am a scholarship recipient.” This week marks the end of our summer internship program. We're thankful for all our amazing interns and are excited for the bright futures ahead of them! 💚

EVP - Employee Benefits Solutions ◆ Board Member ◆ Community Leader ◆ P&L ◆ Strategy ◆ Growth & Innovation ◆ M&A ◆ Technology Transformation ◆ High-Performing Inclusive Teams
We know that our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) makes Securian Financial a better company. We also know it’s challenging work and much more than just a corporate narrative. That's why I was honored to participate in a recent fireside chat, “Collective Success – Leading Inclusively,” hosted by Securian’s Multicultural Network where I shared some real-life examples of how I apply thoughtful actions to my leadership style and how it allows us to win together as a team. #TeamSecurianFinancial

Up next in our intern spotlight series is actuarial intern Addison Zinck! 🌟 “I go to the University of Minnesota where I am part of the Actuary Club. At one of the meetings, Securian was presenting about their internship opportunities, and I immediately knew I wanted to apply there since the people presenting seemed very kind and intelligent! Elsa (Addie’s actuarial mentor at Securian) was a presenter, which is pretty cool considering!” Addie is working on the Business Intelligence team in our Individual Solutions department. One of the big projects she’s working on this summer is an IBNR claims reporting project where she is observing trends and bringing a fresh perspective to #TeamSecurianFinancial.
