We had an amazing week at the National Black Nurses Association Conference! On Wednesday evening, we kicked off the conference with a wonderful dinner reception at the Stanford Health Care campus, providing a perfect opportunity to network and mingle. On Friday, we hosted a career event where attendees met with our nursing leadership to discuss career opportunities, learn about our nurse residency program, and dive into Stanford Health Care's DEI strategies presented by Anna Dapelo-Garcia in her session, "DE&I at Stanford Health Care: Celebrating Progress and Paving the Way Forward." We were also inspired by sessions on Intentional Dialogue: Building Partnerships to Expand Nurse Residency Program Opportunities with Historically Black Colleges and Universities Schools of Nursing by Christie Davis, MSHSA, RN, CENP and Judith Ned, Ed.D., M.Ed., M.A. and Leveraging Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to Build Nursing’s More Inclusive Future by Stephan Davis, DNP, MHSA, FACHE, FAAN, Katie Boston- Leary, PHD, MBA, MHA, RN, NEA-BC, FADLN and G.
