We’re pleased to announce that our Houston Commercial Banking team recently expanded its relationship with a New York-based family office and one of its portfolio companies. The company is a premier supplier of complex LED billboards and lights and was acquired by the family office in 2022 supported by a $13,600,000 term loan from Sunflower Bank. In Spring 2024, the Houston team increased the company’s working capital line of credit to $5,000,000 and also provides treasury management services for the company’s payables and receivables needs. At Sunflower Bank, we recognize and support our employees for all of their accomplishments. This month’s “Sunflower Bank Salutes” is full of Kansas employees we're proud to highlight, including a Senior Private Banker in Overland Park who was selected as one of the "20 Bankers to Know" by the Kansas City Business Journal, a Senior Business Banker in Wichita who was asked to share his expertise on two episodes of a podcast about buying and selling businesses, and our National Community Development Lender in Overland Park, who helped facilitate a much needed affordable housing complex and spoke at its groundbreaking ceremony. Congratulations to Manny Urias, Portfolio Manager, on his retirement after 5 years with Sunflower Bank! Manny will be remembered for always handling himself in the most professional manner and setting a great example for younger bankers. He has been an important part of our team in El Paso and will be missed, but we are all excited for his next chapter: pursuing his dream of teaching banking at the University of Texas at El Paso! We know many young bankers will master not only banking concepts, but life lessons under Manny’s instruction. Thank you, Manny, and we wish you all the best in your next chapter!
