Milestone Achieved: Successful Underlayment Installation at 200 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia Greetings! We're thrilled to share the latest updates on our ongoing project at 200 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia. The construction journey has been challenging but rewarding, and we are proud to update you on significant progress. To date, Surface Specialist’s dedicated crew has successfully poured from the 3rd floor up through the 12th floor, already marking this project a substantial achievement. The 13th floor is our last and final frontier to completion, and our crew is gearing up to complete this final stage with the same precision and dedication that has characterized our work so far. Key Stats & Material Quantities: -Each floor took 2 days to prep and 2 days to pour, putting us on a 4-day cycle per floor -Project start for us was week of Sept. 25. So far the project has run for 16 weeks to knock out 10 floors, with only 1 more floor until completion -Each floor took approximately 850 bags of Maxxon High Performance material, or 68,000 lbs. of concentrate mixed with 138,000 lbs. of sand trucked in (1.6mix) per floor. -For each floor we pumped 206,000 lbs. of underlayment, totaling 2,266,000 lbs. for the entire project! A crucial aspect of the success of the project is the use of the Strong Super 80 pump. This powerful equipment can pump vertically to over 160 feet, coupled with a horizontal run of 170 feet to reach the farthest rooms. The extensive reach of the pump, requiring a significant amount of hose sections, played a vital role. A big thanks to the Surface Specialist crew, headed by Operations Director Tony Ferreria, who’s unwavering commitment, attention to detail, and exceptional teamwork have ensured flawless execution at every stage. And a special mention goes to Hunter Roberts Construction - Philadelphia of Hunter Roberts Construction Group, and the Surface Specialist Management for their outstanding communication throughout the project. This collaboration has resulted in smooth floor transitions and execution, showcasing how effective teamwork is critical to this type of construction project.   Also, a big thanks to Mike Emmert, our local Maxxon Corporation rep, and his team, who despite a national material shortage, delivered uninterrupted truckloads of material as needed throughout the project. Stay tuned for more of our latest news updates, keep an eye out on Linkedin, or our website's "News Page" and Portfolio where you can also see previous projects we’ve completed, and new projects we are taking on as we take on 2024. We look forward to delivering this building to the people of Philadelphia as a testament showcasing our dedication to construction excellence, exceeding expectations and delivering our best. And to everyone involved - job well done!

"Surface Specialist Completes a Unique Project at the Self Help Movement" Surface Specialist recently completed a 12,600 sq. ft. project at The Self Help Movement, located at 2600 Southampton Rd, Philadelphia. The scope of work was to in-full 12,600 sq. ft. at 3 inches deep on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The weight from adding new material was going to be a structural concern, so we made the strategic decision to use Maxxon Low Density Fill, a lightweight material designed to be installed at thicknesses of 1 inch or more. This was a 3-step process. First, we installed the low density fill at 2-1/4 inches deep. Second, we capped the fill with 3/4 inches of Maxxon High Performance Underlayment.  Ideally we would fill the underlayment level with the existing benchmark, but this project posed a challenge because the existing benchmark wavered up and down slightly, such that we could not pour above the low point of the benchmark. In order to meet the benchmark as accurately as possible, we ended up leaving the Maxxon High Performance slightly low. Thus, our third and final step was to install a thin cap of Maxxon Level EZ to dial it in. Another successful job by Surface Specialist LLC! Maxxon Corporation & Mike Emmert Thank you for the great products! #Maxxon #MaxxonLowDensityFill #MaxxonHighPerformance #MaxxonLevelEZ #SurfaceSpecialist #selflevelingunderlayment #commercialconstruction #GypsumUnderlayment #success
