I am super excited about a few new DMNO security-related features. These are of course opt-in but I think super powerful, and shows what you can do once you have a proper schema for your config. # 1 - automatically redact your secrets in your logs. # 2 - intercept secrets being leaked over http (using an allow list) Why use a .env file and cobble together your own solution when you can get this for free? As part of our engine rewrite, System Initiative, we added the ability for a user to be able to defer when actions happen. In our previous engine, we would have made a user delete the action and then open a new changeset to re-enqueue the action. But now we have added the ability to put an action "on-hold" - this means you can choose when you want things to happen! This feels like a force multiplier for being able to decouple release of your system from when you actually build the pieces that you need. It also means that if you are collaborating with another person in the system, you can continually be pushing your code to HEAD so that you don't have long running infrastructure branches!

Over the past few months, we've been working hard at System Initiative to rewrite our engine to be faster! We finally managed to get the work finished off and hit a major milestone today - the deployment of our own infrastructure with our own product - SI on SI!! It's been a fantastic effort by the entire team and this graph basically shows the entire system [think of it like a view of your IaC repo] but that this represents the actual real life infrastructure!! If you want to know more or you want to see this in action, ping me - this is going to be a big change in how systems can be deployed :)
