Please join us in congratulating Region III Director Maricia Jackson on her retirement after more than 30 years of service to the state of Texas. 🌟 Mrs. Jackson began her career with TDCJ in November 1992 as a Correctional Officer at the Polunsky Unit. In January 2010, she promoted to Assistant Warden at the Pam Lychner State Jail/Kegan Intermediate Sanction Facility Complex. By July 2014, Mrs. Jackson promoted to Senior Warden at the Hightower Unit where she served until transitioning to the Senior Warden position at the Plane State Jail/Henley State Jail Complex. In September of 2020, Ms. Jackson promoted to the role of Region III Director, where she held oversight of 18 units. Throughout her career, she tackled many obstacles head-on, never wavering in her commitment to the agency and staff. Her strong moral character and ability to visualize the agency’s mission and convey it to those under her leadership have made her a critical asset to this agency. In 2019, Mrs. Jackson was recognized with the Criminal Justice Administrator of the Year award during the Governor’s Criminal Justice Volunteer Service Awards. For 35 years, Marvin Dunbar has dedicated his career to the agency, starting as a Correctional Officer in 1989.
