Tiffany, a server in Seattle, has made The Cheesecake Factory a special place for one special little girl from Alaska and her family. Due to her medical needs, the family has to frequently travel between Alaska and Seattle. Cheesecake has become a crucial part of the journey because Tiffany always brings out the smiles. On one particular visit, they were sat in a different section but Tiffany stopped by for a visit with the family. As Tiffany said goodbye, the parents handed her a note: “Dear Tiffany, You, my friend, have been an angel for us through our daughter's medical journey. Not only does she pick The Cheesecake Factory for the cheese pizza, fries, pickles, and lemons, but she always picks it because of you! You're somebody she looks forward to seeing. Your kindness and thoughtful conversation have helped her through a rough patch, and you're the only reason she was willing to try eating inside a restaurant after she got into her braces and wheelchair. Today, we didn't get to sit with you, and she was so sad because of it. She even hid under her chair cushion and wouldn't talk to anyone. When you stopped by our table, and she heard your voice, she lifted her head so fast, and I got to see my favorite million-dollar smile I sometimes go days without seeing. I will forever be grateful and remember the part you played during her medical journey. Meet Yara, the Commitment To Excellence Award winner for the Front of House Manager work group! The two words most used to describe Yara are gratitude and kindness. “Her gratitude is so genuine that when she’s thanking a staff member, I feel compelled to do the same, even if I don’t know the reason she’s thanking them,” said GM Slade Neeley. As a testament to her reputation for kindness, Yara has been able to convince an electrician to come out and fix a dishwasher on the 4th of July – they knew that the help and kindness would be paid back to them. Yara is always bringing out the best in others, both staff and guests. She can’t help but attract positivity and has a way of making people feel both confident and comfortable. When presented with a challenge her response is, “Piece of cake, a cheesecake,” and we can’t think of a better way to approach work and life!

We're celebrating 20 years of Cheesecake at Oakbrook Center and an astounding 15 staff members and managers have been there since opening day! From CTE Winners to speedy bussers to Master Culinarians and more, this restaurant has it all. 20 years ago we opened The Cheesecake Factory in Des Moines, IA! We are incredibly grateful for our amazing staff and loyal guests who have made these years so memorable. Angelynn, Juan and John have all been with us since day one. When asked "Why Cheesecake?" Angelynn said, "It's all the amazing people I have met throughout the years. It's a place you can be yourself and hard work pays off. People from all different walks of life can come together and have fun at work!" Juan added, "On Day One, the company, the people, and the training stood out as the best. The Cheesecake Factory gives you opportunities to grow. To be able to come into work happy every day with my job and the people I work with has kept me here for 20 years and more to come!" John finished with, "I love that the company's main culture has stayed the same throughout the years. We’re excited to mark a decade of delicious memories at The Cheesecake Factory in Reno, NV! A special shoutout to Dawn and Mayra, who have been with us since day one. When asked "Why Cheesecake?" I couldn’t have been happier these last 10 years. As proud supporters of the culinary arts, we recently participated in our first ProStart Program Culinary Clash and it was a big success! Over nine working sessions, leaders from our Culinary and Kitchen Operations teams worked with student sous chef Ana on recipe development, competition logistics, booth design, equipment preparation, and presentation skills. We are thrilled to announce that Ana and the team brought home awards for best bite overall and best station presentation. We’re excited to support young people pursuing careers in the culinary arts. Meet Raquel, the Commitment To Excellence Award winner for the Bartender work group! Raquel not only cares about the success of her restaurant, but she’s also willing to do whatever it takes to elevate the standards of her area and our company. Because of her passion for quality, she has been asked to retrain and organize the bar in other locations, sharing her vast knowledge of our recipes and systems. “Raquel is like a living Recipe Viewer,” said her GM Tony Mazza. “Sometimes I will quiz her just for fun, and she ALWAYS gets the answer right!” Raquel has many regulars who will order their “usual” food and drink and it will come out exactly how they want it to – something guests really value these days. “I wish more people could meet Raquel and see what an asset she is to our company,” said Tony. “The passion she’s poured into her craft is truly inspiring. 

We’re known for our large menus and delicious cheesecakes, but want to know our best kept secret? Our amazing intern program! Over the past two months, interns at our Corporate Support Center have organized a blood drive, volunteered at our annual Golf Tournament, toured our Bakery facility, experienced life in our restaurants, led an alignment and attended weekly Lunch and Learns, all while completing their individual projects across nine different departments! We're so proud of all they've accomplished this summer and we're in awe of their commitment to professional growth and their passion for the community.
