We are a 100% volunteer run Non-profit that focuses on combating food insecurity in Chicago and Northern Illinois, by raising money through an annual event in Chicago's Near Westside. This event not only raises over $100,000 to go towards micro-grants for small hunger fighting non-profits, but fosters a community of frivolity and philanthropy.

After a successful CHIditarod, raising over $145,000, our 2024 Grant applications are open! We are seeking smaller, community-led organizations. Letters of Intent are due June 14th! We are particularly interested in organizations whose mission is related to alleviating hunger, addressing food insecurity, and/or improving the lives of the public through education, food or hunger relief in Northern Illinois. https://lnkd.in/gSNHtNET

It's that time of year again! Registration is officially open for Chiditarod XIX. If you wish to race, fundraise and/or collect food for Greater Chicago Food Depository tier 1 registration is now open. The cheapest tier available. Chiditarod.org/register

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. Now in its 19th year, CHIditarod is looking to the future. Our all volunteer crew affectionately called, the Coreganizers, have worked their hearts and butts off to make every race EPIC. It's fun! It's community! It's CHIditarod! To keep going into year 21 and beyond WE NEED VOLUNTEERS. The event simply isn't possible without our hard working Coreganizers, and the race will not continue into 2026 unless we get volunteers to continue planning and executing the race. We are holding an informational Zoom call to let you know how you can help, what roles are available. Which will be followed with an interest form that will go to our Coreganizer leads, so we can find the right role that might be the right fit for you. The meeting will be recorded, and so if you cannot attend the meeting it will be sent out after. Attending the zoom live, will allow you to ask any questions.
