Three months ago, Dixie Dingman, better known as 'Grandma Dixie', suffered a broken back, 10 broken ribs, and a cracked sternum after being crushed by her cement basement wall during the E-4 tornado in Greenfield. Today, Dixie is able to enjoy strolls around her neighborhood thanks to a spinal fusion performed by TIC Neurosurgeon Dr. Royce Woodroffe. "I don't know that I've ever seen somebody recover as quickly as I've seen her recover," Dr. Woodroffe said. "She was very determined to get back on her feet and she certainly has done that already." Dr. Seaman joins the Clinic Neurological & Spinal Surgery department with a passion of caring for the people of central Iowa. Joining a team of physicians with a priority of high-quality patient care in a collegial environment is what drew Dr. Seaman to The Iowa Clinic, where he is excited to bring that same level of care in his practice. During medical school, Dr. Seaman was captivated by the neuroanatomy of the brain and skull and the ability to perform microsurgery in delicate areas, which is what drew him to the specialty of neurosurgery. The ability to walk with patients as they deal with overwhelming diagnoses, counsel them on the best approach, and provide a good outcome is something Dr. Seaman finds most rewarding. After completing medical school, Dr. Seaman trained at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in neurosurgery with a focus in cranial and endoscopic neurosurgery. He then completed his fellowship at the University of Arizona in minimally invasive and endoscopic cranial and skull base surgery, followed by an open and endoscopic neurosurgical skull base oncology fellowship at MD Anderson. Growing up in a log cabin in Pennsylvania, you can often find him cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams, quoting lines from movies, and learning about WWII history. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, playing sports, watching movies and home cooking. Though his passion for neurosurgery is unrivaled, he might have considered a career as a theology, philosophy, or history professor in college. https://lnkd.in/gSQx54rt

Indira joined TIC to be part of a physician-owned clinic with a welcoming culture and opportunity for growth. Indira’s passion for cardiology began during her time as a registered nurse, where her frequent encounters with cardiology cases grew her confidence in the specialty. Since her time in the medical field, she has gained valuable experience at rural community health centers, VA hospitals and nursing homes. For Indira, providing patient-centered care, especially to those from diverse backgrounds with unique needs, is one of the most rewarding parts of her job. Her experience with the geriatric population has been particularly rewarding, allowing her to develop a better understanding of their needs. This compassionate approach is something she enjoys in her work as an NP. Originally from Hyderabad, Telangana, India, Indira later completed her undergraduate and graduate degree at Chamberlain University. She is married and the proud mother of two beautiful boys. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, and gardening. If she weren’t a healthcare provider, Indira may have pursued a career as a professional dietician and chef, making healthy foods all around the world. Alivia Passet, DPM joined The Iowa Clinic Podiatry department stemming from her admiration for its reputation for exceptional providers and patient care. Dr. Passet values the close relationships amongst TIC providers, which provides the opportunity to streamline patient care. After obtaining her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training, Dr. Passet completed her medical degree at Des Moines University and later completed her residency training at the Iowa Methodist Podiatric Medicine and Surgery program. Her background in Athletic Training, combined with personal experiences with athletic injuries, fuels her special interest in treating athletes and athletic injuries. Helping patients to return to a pain-free, active lifestyle is something Dr. Passet finds most rewarding about her practice. An Iowa native, Dr. Passet is thrilled to serve the people of central Iowa. An enthusiastic fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Cincinnati Bengals, she is an avid sports-watcher and dedicated fan. In her free time, Dr. Passet enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and being outdoors – whether golfing, biking, or running.
