Early Childhood - Gardening Care of the environment, including care of plants and animals, is part of the Practical Life curriculum and an important part of Montessori education. This student is caring for our outdoor gardens, ensuring these plants receive enough water in the warm weather. Gardening allows students to observe the interconnectedness of all living things—the bees pollinating, the worms aerating the soil, and the plants providing food and oxygen. #careoftheenvironment #outdoors #careofplants #handsonlearning #experientiallearning #cosmiceducation #gardening #tma #montessori #privateschool #arlingtontx #arlington #texas #infant #nido #toddler #earlychildhood #preschool #kindergarten #elementary #education #privateeducation #nontraditional #themontessoriacademyofarlington

About us
Fully AMS accredited Montessori private school in Arlington TX. See our amazing indoor & outdoor environments by scheduling a visit. NONTRADITIONAL LEARNING Children thrive in both our indoor and outdoor classrooms where curiosity about the world drives them to learn. We provide professional guidance, the prepared environment, and scientifically developed materials for children to live up to their full potential. LEARNING HAPPENS THROUGH PURPOSEFUL ACTIVITY Children work with specially designed learning materials, manipulating and investigating them to master the lessons they embody. ABSTRACT IDEAS IN CONCRETE FORM Children use real objects to translate abstract ideas into concrete form. For example, the binomial cube material physically represents a mathematical equation, which is (a + b)³ = (a + b) (a + b) (a + b) = a³ + 3a²b + 3ab² + b³. OUTDOOR LEARNING PRIORITIZED Safety is our highest priority and we are lucky to have a 13-acre campus which provides students with many opportunities to work outside. Each classroom also has an exterior door, so when it’s too hot or cold outside, students can move into a well-ventilated indoor space. COMMITTED PROFESSIONALS Our committed and credentialed professionals foster a child’s cognitive, physical, and social/emotional well-being, leading children to become enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated learners.

Early Childhood - Self-Serving Snack In the Montessori classroom, a choice of snacks is placed on the serving table during the morning work cycle so children can serve themselves when they feel the desire, rather than at a specified time of an adult's choosing. Students also have the choice to eat at the snack table indoors or take their food outside to the classroom courtyard. These students chose to eat their snack together in the courtyard, enjoying a nice morning under the awning. #freedomwithinlimits #choice #greatoutdoors #handsonlearning #experientiallearning #focus #order #cocentration #coordination #independence #intrinsicmotivation #graceandcourtesy #tma #montessori #privateschool #arlingtontx #arlington #texas #infant #nido #toddler #earlychildhood #preschool #kindergarten #elementary #education #privateeducation #nontraditional #themontessoriacademyofarlington

Lower Elementary - Working in the Courtyard Our elementary students have a choice about where to work each day. Whether they choose to work at a desk, on a mat on the floor, or in the outdoor courtyards, students have the freedom of movement throughout each workday to match their needs. This student chose to do her math in the outdoor courtyard on a beautiful morning, resulting in a more positive experience for her learning journey. #outdoorclassroom #freedomofmovement #freedomofchoice #mathisfun #handsonlearning #order #concentration #coordination #independence #tma #montessori #privateschool #arlingtontx #arlington #texas #infant #nido #toddler #earlychildhood #preschool #kindergarten #elementary #education #privateeducation #nontraditional #themontessoriacademyofarlington

Early Childhood - Botany Look at the collaboration between these Kindergarten students! This simple yet effective lesson on the parts of a flower is a lovely way to introduce a young child to scientific study and observation. The child begins to learn the physiology, structure, genetics, ecology, distribution, classification, and economic importance of the plant and the role it plays on earth. This study can start simply and then as the child matures, it can be repeated in more and more detail. #botany #partsofaflower #science #handsonlearning #experientiallearning #purposefulactivity #tma #montessori #privateschool #arlingtontx #arlington #texas #infant #nido #toddler #earlychildhood #preschool #kindergarten #elementary #education #privateeducation #nontraditional #themontessoriacademyofarlington

Early Childhood - Color Box 3 This student is so proud of her work! The third box of Color Tablets introduces the final stage in color discrimination – that of grading. The box contains 63 tablets representing nine colors in seven graded shades of red, blue, yellow, green, purple, orange, brown, pink, and gray. The student refines their chromatic sense, realizing that items can be red or orange, but also dark red and light orange. The students also hone their visual discrimination as there are subtle differences between some of the shades and tints, and even between colors at the lightest or darkest levels. By introducing students to this range in gradation of a particular color, they are learning about depth of color and can apply their knowledge to the outside world. #handsonlearning #colorgradation #colordiscrimination #chromaticsense #precision #refinement #detail #order #concentration #coordination #independence #tma #montessori #privateschool #arlingtontx #arlington #texas #infant #nido #toddler #earlychildhood #preschool #kindergarten #elementary #education #privateeducation #nontraditional #themontessoriacademyofarlington
