"Edgar Oliver summons the ghosts of the old Pyramid Club in this solo memoir, which recounts his early 20s as a budding gothic poet and playwright, when he often premiered his work at the Avenue A nightclub. In my review I refer to Oliver, who has an accent hovering somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean, as “Vincent Price at his most sentimental.” His voice would be compelling anywhere, but it is particularly well-supported here by Paul Carbonara’s eerie original music and sound design.
