Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative (FFPC) Co-Founder and CEO Lyric Thompson, along with Visiting Fellows Beth Woroniuk and Marita Perceval, recently sat down with Forbes’ Bonnie Marcus to explore the global challenges and opportunities for Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP). Lyric shares that using research to hold governments accountable is the biggest way FFPC influences policy. For example, FFPC has collaborated with the International Center for Research for Women to create the FFP Index which evaluates 140 countries on five pillars that constitute the domains of FFP. “We find this is significantly influential to government counterparts,” Lyric said. “They care about their ranking. They want to do things to improve their score over time.” Read the full story below. #TOMclientnews #feministforeignpolicy #publicrelations #mediarelations

Millennials and Gen Z adults are embracing retirement-style living for its amenities and activities, and developers are responding with resort-style features in new properties. Young professionals and couples are choosing wellness resorts and golf communities with yoga classes, golf courses, and on-site dining. Traditional retiree areas are also adapting to attract younger residents with vibrant, outdoor environments. This trend shows younger generations prioritizing quality of life, blending work, leisure, and relaxation. In an interview with Business Insider, Keith Poliakoff, managing partner of Government Law Group, PLLC, discussed the increasing interest in golf among younger generations. The pandemic drove many to seek outdoor activities, leading to a significant rise in golf amongst younger age groups. "When COVID happened, there was almost an overnight change that could be recognized as far as interest in golf occurred," Keith said. "We saw a huge uptick in the younger population that were looking to do a sport and to have something to do so that they were not cooped up in their homes the entire time.” Read the full story here: https://bit.ly/4ds4Ejh #tomclientnews #millennials #genz #housingtrends #southflorida

This week, Miami Marlins teammates Jesús Luzardo and Jake Burger demonstrated their community spirit by volunteering at Camillus House. The players dedicated their morning to preparing and serving meals to the nonprofit's clients, directly engaging with those in need. Local news outlets WSVN-TV 7News and Wplg Channel 10 stopped by, interviewing Jesús and Jake while capturing footage of their volunteer efforts in the kitchen. In a generous gesture, the Luzardo Family Foundation, through the Miami Marlins Foundation, contributed $5,000 to Camillus House. This donation will help fund the hundreds of daily meals provided by the organization, including to working individuals forced to live in their cars due to Miami's high cost of living. The players' hands-on involvement and financial aid highlight how they support Camillus House’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Indulge in la dolce vita at Elia, Miami River's most recent culinary gem. The new Southern Italian restaurant, nestled in the River Landing Shops & Residences, offers a menu of small plates and pasta dishes. In an article from the Miami Herald, Connie Ogle details Elia’s over 3,500-square-foot space with indoor seating for 160 diners including a lounge and outdoor dining by the water for 100. Connie also spoke to owner Engin Akdemir of Aden Hospitality on how he knew River Landing was the perfect location for Elia. “Being on the Miami River allows us to incorporate such a beautiful resource into our design to create a truly memorable dining experience,” Engin said. “We’ve meticulously designed our space to take advantage of the sunset, with our bar chandelier illuminated in its golden glow, casting a mesmerizing ambiance.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gmEBdQTk #TOMClientNews #miamirestaurants #italiancuisine #miamifoodies
