A 'New York Times' article shared this week spotlights how the significant decline in #veteran #homelessness provides a model for tackling all homelessness. Specifically, #affordablehousing + case management/supportive services + sustained funding is a demonstrated solution to meaningfully reducing homelessness. We know what works - we just need more funding to scale these proven solutions. Learn more in our recent blog post on the topic: https://lnkd.in/eMD9HHrY.

This is incredible news for Tulsa Public Schools students, including many of our resident kiddos! We know that addressing both #housinginsecurity and #foodinsecurity makes a huge impact on a student's capacity to learn and we're so grateful to TPS for their commitment to removing barriers to learning for all students. #creatingabettertulsa https://lnkd.in/ebyyj3PK

Here at THA, the work of transforming communities includes more than housing - we want to create spaces for our residents to live and to play! We can't wait to see our resident kiddos enjoying the new playgrounds that are part of the $70 million, 147-unit renovations at our Mohawk Manor, Seminole Hills, and Whitlow properties!

Progress requires the right partners, and George Kaiser Family Foundation, including their InvestNorth team led by Brandon Oldham, has been and continues to be an incredible supporter of our work. We're so grateful for their collaborative partnership and their commitment to creating housing for Tulsans who need it most. Together, we're #creatingabettertulsa.
Addressing the need for affordable housing in historically marginalized Black neighborhoods, the Tulsa Housing Authority, our InvestNorth initiative and community partners are transforming North Tulsa with 36N, the city’s largest affordable housing project. Our own Brandon Oldham, who leads the InvestNorth initiative, reflected on his experiences growing up in North Tulsa, noting the former Comanche Park apartments where the the project recently broke ground, was the first home he ever knew: "But most of all, I think of a longing for opportunity," said Oldham. "I'm immensely grateful for the courageous partners involved with this project, which will spur opportunity for North Tulsa." Read the full story at https://ow.ly/Bxsf50SEGCC.

We're encouraged to see City of Tulsa looking into zoning changes to potentially allow for more housing development and were happy to talk with KOTV - The News On 6 about Tulsa's need for housing of all types - especially #affordablehousing. Homeownership isn't achievable or even desirable for a significant segment of our population so we have to respond to demand and help our neighbors across the income spectrum access a safe, stable, affordable home. It's a very challenging affordable housing development environment right now, and as was shared in this interview, it will take all sectors coming together to adequately address it. https://lnkd.in/gTZa8VUV
