#UrsaMajorFirsts: We became the first U.S. company to fire an oxygen-rich staged combustion engine, and in 2019, we developed the highest-performing kerosene engine in the United States. Our kerosene engine, Ripley, has the highest Specific Impulse (Isp) of any American kerosene rocket engine in history. By adapting quickly and creating efficiencies, we help customers launch faster without relying on foreign technology or incurring the high cost of building engines in-house.

Today, we announced that industry veteran Daniel Jablonsky will become Ursa Major’s new CEO, and founder and CEO Joe Laurienti will step back. In Dan, we are welcoming a highly experienced leader who has scaled multiple companies and has had a long career holding leadership roles at aerospace and defense companies. We’re thrilled that he is joining Ursa Major to help us grow into the next phase of our history. Joe led Ursa Major through nine years of growth and built a world-class engineering team that has enabled technological leaps in space access while also rapidly advancing the development of hypersonic technology and next-generation solid rocket motors. We could not be more thankful for his leadership and vision over the past nine years. Ursa Major is well-positioned for growth: we successfully launched the Hadley rocket engine in March in a first flight that broke new ground, recently won a significant number of new contracts, just announced the creation of a new R&D site in Youngstown, Ohio, that will help expand and accelerate Ursa Major’s new material development, and are now excited to have Dan on board.
