In the fall of 2023, Veolia Milwaukee partnered with the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) to solicit concepts for the installation of a mural at the South Shore Water Reclamation facility in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The students presented several designs that were vetted by the Veolia team. Two final design concepts, inspired by native species of plants and fish, were voted on by employees of Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD). The final mural was completed at the end of July, measuring 52 feet wide and 9 feet high. This is Veolia’s 4th project with MIAD and working with their Innovation Center.

Did you know today, August 8, is #NationalPickleballDay? We at Veolia are proud to be the Official Sustainability Partner of the PPA Tour, featuring the highest level of pickleball, the fastest growing sport in America. Through this partnership we are not only helping to green up the PPA tour along the way, but making a positive impact in each city the tour visits. Prior to each of our tournaments, we have organized cleanups with PPA pros and staff members, piloted a pickleball recycling program and showed pickleball fans how water is treated in our mobile water unit. Our 2024 pickleball tournaments have taken us from Phoenix, Austin, Houston, Los Angeles, Sacramento, and we will end in Milwaukee from November 14-17, 2024. We look forward to seeing you in Milwaukee and at next year's tournaments! Learn more about our partnership at https://lnkd.in/eSjW3mk9

Veolia is the first company to receive double validation of its climate commitments by both the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and Moody’s. SBTi praised Veolia’s climate ambition, which includes an emission reduction target of the Group’s validated climate trajectory aligned with a 1.5°C trajectory set by the Paris Agreement, as well as: 🌱 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2032, notably through the acceleration of our investments to phase out coal in Europe and capture biogas at our waste storage sites 🌱 Increase of 50% in erased emissions for our clients (Scope 4) by 2030 🌱 Achievement of carbon neutrality by 2050 This validation is an exciting reinforcement of the work we are doing to reach net zero and work with our customers to create a more sustainable future.
