On 6 August 1991 Tim Berners-Lee invited the world to use an "easy but powerful global information system” - the World Wide Web. https://lnkd.in/euwGwkTZ The power of the web, of using technology to connect and share information, has changed all our lives. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) was founded by Tim three years later to build a common community to support the Web's development. W3C defines a World Wide Web that that works for the benefit of humanity by developing technical standards and guidelines to empower an equitable, informed, and interconnected society. As we celebrate the anniversary of Tim’s introduction of the Web to the world, we are deeply committed to ensuring that it works for the good of all. W3C’s vision or our work and the Web is: • The Web is for all humanity. • The Web is designed for the good of its users. • The Web must be safe for its users. • There is one interoperable world-wide Web. Thank you, Tim and all at W3C who have come together to help ensure a web that works, for everyone.
